Returning to Toolroom after their debut Techno banger 'Turbine' featured on the hugely successful Rhythm Distrikt compilation, this prestigious production duo are back with a release which showcases their killer hooks and distinctive sounds alongside haunting vocals and deep, atmospheric tones. 'Cyclic Operations' captures the best of Spektre's unique sound, starting off, delving into the darker side of Techno and finishing leaving the listener with those classic slick, smooth, Techno vibes.

Including 14 tracks and a full-length DJ mix, the album is cleverly divided up by a series of short musical interludes; 'Introduction' with its dark vocals, 'Intersection' with its futuristic, apocalyptic feel and 'Intervention' which is more uplifting and upbeat. Album highlights include 'Let Me Tell You' which features the strong vocals of Montserrat, 'Sense In Madness' with its spooky synths and powerful basslines, the mystical 'Ghosts In The Machine' with its futuristic sounds, the feel good summer tune 'Opus' and the beautiful 'Steel City Sunrise' which ends the album with smooth echoing vocals and a chilled melodic atmosphere.

It has been a whirlwind twelve months for David Sidley and Duncan Murray aka WHYT NOYZ. Since their SCI+TEC debut last February the UK based producers have enjoyed successful releases and remixes with Terminal M, Alleanza, KD Music and Form, and closed 2013 with a first full release on Richie Hawtin's Minus.

Formed in 2010 the duo quickly impressed with their driving techno productions that were matched with live drums and innovative vocal samples. Having initially caught the ear of Hawtin with their early demos, WHYT NOYZ were soon featuring on his Minus12 sub-label and their track 'Volcano' was included on his 'New Horizons' compilation. 

Dubfire was also a fan and invited the duo to produce an EP for SCI+TEC. They announced their arrival to the family with the rampant 'Homewurk' EP. Throughly tried and tested by the label boss, both tracks are now certified SCI+TEC hits and ready for release. 

Today WHYT NOYZ return with the 'They' EP, a four track selection that rolls out of the blocks with the mean stomping sound of the title track. The tempo is pushed on Tribe with its pulsing bassline, fluid FX and bell chimes before the boys match hip-hop vocal spikes, a fat, groovy bottom end and tense breaks on In 95'. WHYT NOYZ drop more urban funk on the final cut as their cascading keys and throbbing bass work to perfection to close the ep in true party style.

Russia's rising Ricky Ebner returns to SCI+TEC with the follow up to his 2013 Trantola EP. Having originally impressed label boss Dubfire with the title track of that EP, Ricky was asked to work on more material and before long the young producer from the Serov State had confirmed his first full release. 

His Take The Cause EP sees Ricky further explore his penchant for dark and reflective grooves. With a relaxed tempo and and array of twisted sounds, the title track opens the EP and sets the sinister tone. Angerfor creeps, with its marching beat and demonic vocal, before Palbalber ups the tempo and continues to spook with its vocal twists and turns. Blasted Bird closes the EP with its spritely stabs and and deep bass throb. 

Ricky's Take The Cause EP is also backed with another SCI+TEC Tools package for those who love to get tricky.

We here at Second State are thrilled to bring you our new concept entitled HUB. While most labels these days are doing various artists releases to showcase the overall talent on their label, we thought it would be better suited for both our listeners and ourselves to break the mold and bring you a series of true collaborations. Each HUB release will feature a single artist teaming up with others from the Second State family to create an EP of authentic musical compromises. A place where multiple minds find a harmony somewhere outside their own identity and each collaboration conceives a genuinely unique artifact. With this, there is no one we would rather have kick off the series than the man behind the massive EPs; 'Throwl' and 'Doch', Stephan Hinz with HUB One!

Of course it would only be right to kick off the first track of the first HUB One way. An alliance with, Pan-Pot. "Tension' is a heavy number with just a few key elements, it's a slow lurking journey through a dark forest at night. As each bush and branch is pushed aside and every step inches closer to a destination unknown, the pressure builds.
