Italian artist Ilai Salvato is one of the leading talents in the new generation of Progressive Psytrance artists. A gifted, hard-working producer that gained lots of experience in the last few years by releasing studio albums, remixes, and collabs, while creating his own line of audio sample packs. Last year's pandemic caught Ilai in his most busy year of touring and actually sent him back to the studio to produce his forthcoming 5th album. Ilai made a big step forward lately by signing up with the legendary label HOMmega, and his new release 'Overture' (with Simon Patterson) is topping the charts with great feedback from all over the world. This mix for Radiozora includes some of Ilai's latest stuff, as well as some unreleased Hommega tracks from artists that he likes.

Driven hunt 
When someone asks me what my favourite time to play is,
is the answer
At an open air - the sunset
In a club - from 01:00 at night 

As different as these two locations are, they do have one thing in common.

Open Air : 
The sunset is probably the most beautiful moment of the day, it is energising and not for nothing is it celebrated by many people every day.
It is a kind of magic that captures us and has been revered for thousands of years  by many peoples around the world for good reason.
But it's not this moment or the twilight that fascinates me so much, it's the play with people.
I love watching people on the dancefloor, whether they are dancing, whether they are laughing and having fun with the music. 
I love making eye contact with people, it gives me positive energy when I can see the laughter in their eyes.
it's a nice moment every time.
It's the only way to judge whether the music really fits, it's not so easy at night, because everything becomes one big opaque mass.
Blinded by light effects, lasers and fog machines.

The time before the downfall is also the time when most people gather on the dancefloor.
However, the whole thing is still a bit subdued, they chat on the sidelines or at the bar,
They watch the game, just as I watch them.

In the club.
It's no different here.
People usually arrive around midnight or a little later, they first stand at the bar or on the dancefloor and chat, they watch what's going on, just like I do.
In both cases, it's the DJ's job to lure them onto the dancefloor, to get them going,lead them musically into the night.

For me, it is always a game, a challenge, to get the audience 
from their seats and to drive them deeper and deeper into our music

You have to musically convince a lot of people to get involved with your playing and that should be done with care and caution, because it's probably not smart to slay they immediately with your music.

Yes, you have to make compromises, you can't play some tracks because they're not appropriate for the time, but this game is always worth it to me.

It's actually no different to what our ancestors did thousands of years ago.
They went into the forest or the countryside and used lure calls, rhythmic drumming or even startled the game to drive them to a certain point.

Today this is called a driven hunt!

In the end of the 90's Chris joined the Chromanova – family and worked with them until now. 
They are streaming tons of cheerful mixes all around the world. 

In 2008 Chris joined Yellow Sunshine Explosion Records and having produced about 15 compilations for the this label. 
Chris’s style moves between groovy House Music and uplifting Psychedelic Trance. 

in the the Corona Lockdown Time he decide to start Producing his own music.. the first Tracks are around the corner. its going to be between Ambient and Chillout Music to Melodic Techno and Psychedelic Trance. stay tuned.... :-)
