Despite the great success achieved in Brazil in the 80s, this cover remained for a long time a hidden gem. In this edit, Dj & producers Lago and Maco Maltauro present an extended version of the track with more bass, synthesizers and atmospheric elements.

-NIGHTBUS is an electronic music soundtrack for a long journey on a night bus. It's atmospheric, ethereal, ambient, modern music with just enough drive to get you home. It's music to help you stare out of the window and notice the little details that make the ride kind of special. It's music to take you there and help you feel like you are somewhere else. 

It's a step forward in the tradition of ambient, environmental music that stretches from Erik Satie through Brian Eno and Burial to the present.

On this, the second edition, of the series we focus on more producers and artists from South East London, the beating creative heart of our great, grinding global metropolis.

As most of the artists featured on the album play live, sing, DJ or make films, we also take the Night Bus out live with an immersive evening of live music and nocturnal city images.

Night Bus is a compilation and evening out put together in collaboration by music producer Ojan, film makers Wesley Stokes Mellor and Molly Eaglesham and DJ Chris Coco.

Rising producer Mineo has taken the underground by storm over the past year having unleashed an array of highly praised material via the likes of Crosstown Rebels, Hot Creations, Hypercolour and Southern Fried Records. Here we see Mineo add yet another driving force in contemporary electronic music to his affiliations, namely Leftroom which offers up this new three-tracker via its Ltd sub-label.

Mineo opens things up with title-cut ‘Disappear’, employing weighty rhythms and stuttering sub-bass tones to lay the foundations, while glitching synth licks instil an entrancing hooky feel, and an amalgamation of spoken-word vocal chops are intricately processed over the cuts five and half minutes.

Following is ‘Starts With A Kick’, taking things in a more stripped, understated direction with dreamy atmospherics and organic percussive lines running alongside whirring synth drones and Bhutanese vocal loops. Then last up to round off the package is ‘Starts With A Beat’ and as the name would suggest Mineo tips the focus on raw and gritty drum sounds here, while an earth-shattering, mesmeric sub-bass line hooks you in and keep you there for a near seven-minutes while murmuring vocals meander around the groove

This new 7” on Brooklyn’s Bastard Jazz Recordings is Fabulous’ first new material since Melodies, and picks right up where the album left off.
