I wanted to write a blues song, but I didn’t know what would come out.  I use my experiences as a means to convey my emotions.  This song was inspired by an experience with a well-known, ruthless character in our music world.  So, with the help of Steve Valverde, my bass player in two of my bands, we wrote “Breakfast of Blues”.  At its core, “Breakfast of Blues” is about people I knew, who had absolutely no honor.  I hear melodies in my head, verses, hooks, and choruses, then try to put my anger, love, fear, or whatever to music.

One of my band mates and a dear friend of mine, Peter Harris brought this song to me.
I really wanted to sing it.  The lyrics and music of "Loving You All The Way Down" spoke to me on so many levels of emotion that I believe we all go through. Men and women.  I wanted to convey and give homage to just the raw love and commitment that bleeds through the song.

Apparently I think too complicated in my songs. To better understand my thoughts and words, I would like to go into the story behind them.

I will never forget the look on a friend's face after we kidnapped him from the hospital many weeks after his serious traffic accident to drive a little through the night. The happiness of still being alive and regaining freedom. At the end of that ride we brought him save back to the hospital. 

This song is a fictional story about a couple in a many year relationship where the beloved wife is in the hospital with a terrible illness.
If it were based on a real story, I don't think I could sing about it in the same way.

The idea of being incurable in a hospital, monitored only by machines. The only distraction seems to be the television in the room. But everything reported there seems meaningless and unimportant in such a situation.

in my mind about this I would wish to spend some more time together alone and escape from this situation.
And how precious every second becomes that you can still spend together.
One probably wishes that this time should last for eternity.

With this background the song seems a little different than planned despite the happy melody.

Chris Drabble, based in the Northwest of England, is a rock guitarist who has over 50 years of playing experience.
With nearly 50K streams on SoundCloud in the last 12 months being a mixture of Guitar Rock and softer Ambient instrumental tracks, Chris is now ramping up his rock guitar work with his latest album ‘Foot to the Floor’, which harks back to his youth when rock guitar tracks had a catchy opening riff, and was the sort exciting music you felt you had to tap your foot to. 
His influences include Rush, Led Zeppelin, The Police, Simple Minds, Pink Floyd, Joe Satriani and Jimi Hendrix. He is currently listening to Porcupine Tree, Dream Theatre.
