“Low Life” is a cinematic Icelandic post-rock composition where droning distorted guitar, choir textures, and the Heima String Kvartett merge into an overwhelming wall of sound. Within the density, delicate string melodies, church organ harmonies, and slow-moving atmospheric post rock dynamics create a piece that shifts from heavy and immersive to fragile and intimate.

Mike Taylor’s church organ anchors the track in a cathedral-like resonance, while the layered strings drift between modern classical minimalism and widescreen instrumental soundtrack music.
A powerful, textured work that captures the sound of volcanic landscapes, deep emotional pressure, and slow-burning eruption.

This is Icelandic post rock with strings, rooted in cinematic expression, drone guitar atmospheres, and a glacial sense of space.

Chris Drabble, based in the Northwest of England, is a rock guitarist who has over 50 years of playing experience.
With nearly 50K streams on SoundCloud in the last 12 months being a mixture of Guitar Rock and softer Ambient instrumental tracks, Chris is now ramping up his rock guitar work with his latest album ‘Foot to the Floor’, which harks back to his youth when rock guitar tracks had a catchy opening riff, and was the sort exciting music you felt you had to tap your foot to. 
His influences include Rush, Led Zeppelin, The Police, Simple Minds, Pink Floyd, Joe Satriani and Jimi Hendrix. He is currently listening to Porcupine Tree, Dream Theatre.
