Tony Neptune once again takes us on a voyage through time and space. 

This week's addition to our mix series is a four hour excursion through a plethora of sonic realms. Notorious on-site at Dimensions for his marathon B2B's with Mark ‘Turbo’ Turner, you'll find hi-tech soul, booty, electro and some three-deck wizardry scattered throughout.

Tony Neptune is a multi-media persona created by the Leeds-based artist and producer Sam Jefferies who, inspired by the narrative and musical legacies of early Detroit techno culture, aims to tell a complete story for the senses through a combination of image, sound and text. His debut EP 'Reflections On A Daring Escape' is an exciting statement and an exquisite example of his imagination and creativity - available for pre-order now (out 11th September 2020).

This week’s Rhythmic Culture podcast is all about deep grooves and pumping rhythms, as Melbourne’s Toni Yotzi is in charge of what’s happening for 66 minutes. Toni has played a crucial role in developing Perth into a thriving club metropolis, programming Deep Doogs’ sunrise rave, co-hosting Full Frequency on RTR FM and presenting parties for Kenji Takimi, Bell Towers and DJ Nozaki. Now based in Melbourne, she’s established herself as one of the most open minded DJs on the local circuit, immortalised by a legendary Inner Varnika and Golden Plains set's that saw her fearlessly transition from Jon Hassell to italo disco, memphis rap and Bristol bass and UK techno.

In her mix she’s features mostly Australian artists and labels. Feast your ears with cuts from Pugilist, LOIF, Coldpast, Hed Ardennes and many more.

It was our very first Summer where we had the pleasure to welcome Pieter Jansen. Where he joined forces with Tsepo at our seasons finale, creating some moments we will never forget. A lot has changed since. Pieter proved himself as a real electronical octopus. Not only in his sound as a DJ, where he evolved into a really mature and authentic sound that varies between industrial sounds as IDM & techno, but also the more minimalistic grooves with embracing housy elements. He also started his label yeyeh • ninih, start working for Bordello a Parigi and does numerous radio shows. 

This podcast proves his convincing development as a DJ and a selector. A trippy trip that builds up the tension until your mind reaches a trance state of mind that we all desire when dancing in the club. With a more sensitive but still energetic ending that will let your mind float in higher atmospheres and releases all of the tension. It's a beauty.

Festimi Podcast 30 - Pieter Jansen

And here we are, closing out the year with a mix from a relative newcomer whose music has travelled well this year.

A Psychic Yes is a producer with whom some will be familiar and others not - with releases on the likes of Tech Startup, Kalahari Oyster Cult and Schloss his sound is uniquely individual. It draws upon a wide collection of influences and moods, pairing elements of IDM with playful UK bass, techno and beyond.

Each of his releases are woven as a wonderful tapestry of odd glitches, melodic flutters, strange percussion and experimental electronics. 

This mix is a representation of his sound and shows us a glimpse of what's to come in the near future for what is a very promising artist.
