It's been a tough year and I never for one second expected to be doing weekly streams 12 months on but hosting weekly events has kept me (relatively) sane and it's been genuinely life affirming to hang out with my mates, meet new people and enjoy music together.

All I can say is THANK YOU to everyone who joined us, danced like loons, DJ'd amazing music, talked olympic level bollocks and had FUN.

Nebula takes you on a journey full of pulsing sub bass, rave stabs and tones, until you find yourself adrift in a nebulous cloud of hazy pads and alien-like soundscapes.

Spacewalk sounds like you have stepped out of the airlock into zero gravity. A driving sub-bass propels the track forwards, while bleepy hooks and a bubbling arpeggiated synth pattern culminate in a floaty washed-out breakdown.

I have been wanting to create a chilled out mix for a while. Something I can have in the background during wine tasting and dinner parties. I picked up some new tunes on vinyl and digital as well and just tried some stuff out. Started around 99 BPM and got up to 107 BPM at the end. Perfect for watching the sun set into the Pacific Ocean.

This is interesting.  Where I am at inside my head, 4 different scenarios.  One West Coast, One Detroit, One Tampa/Orlando, One New England.   4 various promoters, one dilemna - Too many DJ's on the same line-up, 

West Coast promoter says I got 20 minutes for you between Donald Glaude & DJ Dan.  Detroit promoter, 20 minutes between Dezi (Psycho) & Derrick Carter.  Florida promoter, 20 minutes between Icey & Rabbit In The Moon.  New England promoter, 20 minutes between Osheen & Charles Feelgood.  20 minutes. Various regions have different expectations. 

Somehow I'm gonna play 18 minutes & some seconds, and talk to the crowd for a minute.  Professional Grade A status at all times.

It doesn’t get much bigger than this: Adam Beyer links up with Green Velvet and Drumcode’s outstanding rising star Layton Giordani for a debut collaboration.

Some musical partnerships feel fated. Both fans of one another’s work, for years Adam Beyer and Green Velvet had discussed writing music together. In turn, Beyer’s protégé Layton Giordani had admired the Chicagoan’s work for as long as he could remember. When the 25-year-old found himself playing alongside the green mohawked legend at Belfast’s Shine, the spark and subsequent friendship was immediate. With the links now set in place, it was only a matter of time before the trio’s creative chemistry would manifest musically.

‘Space Date’ was conceived organically and birthed quickly. Propelled by Green Velvet’s trademark vocal hypnotism, the triumvirate combine to craft a pumping intergalactic slice of techno laced in melody that’s highlighted sets by Beyer at Awakenings, Ushuaia and also EDC Vegas when Green Velvet dropped it to a raucous response. The track is complimented by ‘Rome Future’, the product of a year-long series of productions between Beyer and Giordani. Deftly combining crisp drum work, catchy vocal effects and a powerful bassline melody that gives the track an almighty kick, it will be familiar to many who’ve followed their sets over recent months.

Showcasing his ever-evolving sound palette, Jason Ross continues to broaden his sonic horizons with "The Gorge," his latest single release from the upcoming 'Rooms' EP. In addition, Jason is pleased to release his first Rooms Mix, the debut installment of a 6-part series to be spread across 2019. 

‘The Gorge’ sees Jason incorporate a psy-trance twist into the classic Anjuna formula, courtesy of the young producers, Dimibo. Bringing the tune together, however, took quite a while. "I don't think I've ever had so many different versions of a track before this one, described Jason. "There were so many directions I tried taking it, but nothing was exciting to me. I knew the track was special and I didn't want to put it to the side, so I kept trying different routes. Then I had this wild idea to turn it into a cross-breed of progressive trance and psy-trance, and it all clicked."

The track is a reflection of the eclectic sets he's recently performed alongside the Ophelia label manager, Seven Lions. Jason went on, "lately, I've been experimenting producing different genres and playing them out at shows. When I played b2b with Seven Lions at #ABGT250, we played a psy-trance track and I've never experienced such a raw reaction from the crowd when that bassline dropped. I knew I wanted to try and recreate something like that which I could also play in my own sets."

Another new project, The Rooms Mixes are another way for Jason to show his increasingly diverse taste in dance music. Said the young producer of the series, "Hosting a 6-part series across 2019 will let me showcase both old classics and new material outside of the live environment. I can give fans a taste of where my heads at in a different way."

There are few individuals within the underground dance music industry able to match Chris Fortier for both influence and achievement over the last two decades. With a mandate predicated upon the deceptively simple notion of "constant musical evolution", the founder and owner of the globally renowned Fade Records, is not constrained by boundaries, reflected in both the music he plays and creates.

An extensive list of achievements is testament to such elevated ideals, perhaps best showcased by the iconic 2005 "Balance 007" compilation; a groundbreaking CD at the vanguard of a fresh, innovative and underground sound movement, that history would later record as an aural blueprint for the worldwide dance music explosion that followed in the subsequent decade and beyond. A further eight commercially released mix albums would also contain the Chris Fortier DNA.

As a production artist, Fortier's portfolio of skills have been crafted and honed through an intimate 20-year knowledge of clubs across the globe's dance-floor capitals – from Tokyo, Melbourne, Mexico City to Budapest and Buenos Aires to residencies at the legendary AAHZ in Orlando in the early 90’s through to New York's Twilo and London's The Cross. Always in demand and prolific in output, a continually rising 400 plus Beatport production credits tell only half of an impressive story.
