Hundreds of drones scrambled beneath a swirling sky as they raced to finish the construction of their monolithic aluminum kin, a masterstroke of technological progress that aimed its apex directly at the eye of the storm above. For years the coming of this cataclysmic event had been known, and from that day the building of the metallic superstructure had begun, but the storm had come a day early and now threatened all of the progress that had been made. In a few short hours, the incalculable ferocity of the gale was set to be supercharged by a coinciding solar flare that would send the forces that churned within it into overdrive, creating a storm that could swallow the world.

Standing below in defiance to this outcome was the drones’ creation, a mass array of rocketry set to bear forth the greatest payload ever delivered from their world. Atop the ship’s stacks of thrusters was a massive satellite, dangerous in its own right for its ability to create conditions much like those that loomed above. Yet beyond the reaches of the planet’s atmosphere, this satellite would be the world’s single attempt to prevent their own destruction, a cosmic parry with only an hour-long window of effect. By emitting a vast amount of oppositely charged particles in the face of the oncoming flare, the satellite would rebuff the energy that threatened to amplify the already destructive storm to apocalyptic proportions. As the surface of the sun roiled with fusion wrought energy, the rocket shot up into the sky, and all on the planet bated their breath in the uncertainty of what would come next.

Following his appearance on EATBRAIN’s Divergence III compilation CHASER now makes his full debut on the label with BLASTPIT, an EP well-named upon the strength of the sonic power that is contained within. The five tracks of the EP feature explosive basslines combined with piercing percussion and an array of samples & synths that all share CHASER’s high-tech sound and promise to supercharge the fervor of the EATBRAIN horde.

How long had it been since the cold had set in? Months, years, perhaps even decades? Under the dim light of a sun long fallen from its zenith none could say, for the unending twilight obscured the passage of time beneath its penumbral veil. The sun had fallen long ago, that much was known, and with it came the chill grasp of constant winter which buried the seas in ice and had frozen much of the world to the bone.

That life which did survive now did so amidst the former tropics of the land, the trees of which now creaked under the weight of the ice that hung from their branches. Few species had made successful migrations to these pockets of relative warmth, and none had lived within them long enough to adapt to the new climatic norm, and thus the ground was oft littered with their corpses, barely decaying amidst the chill that enveloped them. Most extant life had found shelter deep underground or near to the rims of the world’s calderas, finding shelter or desperately needed warmth amidst the bones and blood of a world now dead of flesh. The ETERNAL FROST had descended, and life now teetered on the brink of extinction beneath the weight of its stygian presence.

The subspace pace it proceeded at was not rushed but yet bore a certain urgency, as though the ship stalked some unknown quarry from afar. No hails had been returned and no attempts to scan its interior had borne fruit, and thus on the planets below populations watched with anxious awe as it continued on whilst praying that it did not take specific notice of their lives. Thus it was that what could only be called the STARSHIP entered into galactic knowledge, and none yet knew where its course might lead.

DESPERSION debuts his devious first EATBRAIN release with the STARSHIP EP, which brings the label’s horde to intergalactic heights across the three tracks contained within. A rising star form Russia, DESPERSION’s prior releases have landed on labels including SLK Records, Empire Recordings, and Neuropunk Recordings, the latter being the imprint label of Eatbrain regulars Gydra & Teddy Killerz. Although dawn was just breaking, the beach was abuzz with activity. A swarm of surf enthusiasts and their shieldlike boards had gathered like a phalanx on the shores in anticipation of what was to come that day, hoping to be the first to catch the perfect waves that were set to soon crest atop the glistening tropical waters for the ride of a lifetime. Rumors abounded as to why the waves had come, from the mixture of a myriad of perfect climatic conditions to the arrival of a singular school of mystically empowered fish to the reef that lay beneath them. Whatever the case, with the rising of the sun came waves of greater and greater magnitude and a cacophony of cheers from the beachfront as the first boards were launched into the maw of the roaring ocean.

As the idyllic day continued above the waters a sinister presence circled below, its eyes gazing hungrily at the ovoid shadows that flit above the water. The native sharks of the reef, normally content to feed on the buffet of fish that it housed, were afflicted with an unnatural hunger. Thus it was that when the perfect moment presented itself, they struck, abandoning their solitary ways and falling upon a poor hapless surfer as a ravenous pack. The small jaws afforded by their shallow habitat tore chunks of flesh from the surfer’s body in a death by 1000 cuts, and yet the mercy of death would not be granted to this thrillseeker. As he returned to the shore, bloodied and with protruding bones, many fellow surfers flocked around him to question his condition. In response, all the surfer could muster was “the waves… were so… GNARRRRRRRRR”, before leaping upon his compatriots with the selfsame bloodlust of the sharks which had granted him this new and unending hunger.

MNDSCP returns to EATBRAIN with the three terrifying tracks that make up his latest EP, GNAR, summoning a deluge of subsonic sound waves for the label’s horde to feast their ears upon from the biting bassline of FLESH EATER to the high power percussion of HAZE.

It had not been long since the first of the Yokai had emerged from the depths of the forgotten vale, but within the endless hunt that had followed time itself had faded into obscurity as the night’s monstrosities had begun to terrorize the human civilizations. Even as more of their number appeared every day, their point of entry into the human plane lay shrouded by mystery, an unknown breach in the fabric of reality from which such terrors emerged. It was this way, at least, until a sole warrior once again stepped foot into that desecrated glade, echoing the footsteps of those who had first closed this portal long ago.

Before the warrior rose a swirling mass of primeval energy, formed of the mystical energies of the cosmos caught in a vortex and held open by the chaotic relation of its disparate parts. At it’s base lay a shattered keystone, still inscribed with abjuring runes that were split in twain by fissures in the rock. Laid long ago by those wise in the magical arts, the keystone’s energies now lay dormant, sundered by the opposing forces of the yokai that it had long kept at bay. The warrior had slain many in his quest to locate this place, but the seal could not be reforged by one man alone. Thus it was that the warrior set out upon a new quest, one that would lead him into countless battles with the most fearsome of the Yokai, as he sought out the lost magics that could rebind the seal and the rare individuals still capable of wielding them. With THE PARADOX churning malevolently before him, the warrior swore in solemnity that he would not rest until it was closed once more.

SCREAMARTS returns to EATBRAIN with THE PARADOX, the follow up to his recent Yokai EP on the label and the beginning of a sonic saga that is set to inspire the producer’s many forthcoming works. Thrumming with and excess of pure energy that radiated from the fissures crisscrossing its core, the POWER CUBE hovered slowly through the endless scrapyards at the edge of the city. Its passing briefly snapped the various automata and machines that lay forgotten therein to life, causing their rusted exoskeletons to whirr with motion before the thermal energy produced by the POWER CUBE reduced their complex components into a molten slurry of their base elements. A lost spark that found itself as cosmic flotsam following the destruction of its former body, the cube wandered aimlessly in search of a new housing that it could imbue with purpose and power, one that could also withstand the forces of the reaction that occurred within it.

With a trail of unworthy vessels left languishing in its wake, the POWER CUBE came to the edge of the scrapyard, where the dunes of a vast desert lapped abrasively at the weathered remains that had first been dumped at this site. It had glided across the sands, further into the wastelands, when the ground beneath it began to shake in resonance with its energetic emanations. From the depths of the sands began to emerge the bones of a colossus wrought of crude materials that did not falter before the cube’s radiance. They coalesced around it’s core, the closest structures glowing red hot from the power of the device that now rested within their protective embrace. Together, both cube and colossus summoned forth the abilities necessary to take a single lumbering step, shaking the earth and resettling the dunes around them as they began their operations as a whole. Lacking a body no longer, the POWER CUBE expelled some of its excess energy and the great behemoth roared to life, it's earthworn and rusted body setting off into the wastes that lay before it.

The futuristic sonics of CURRENT VALUE make their debut on EATBRAIN with POWER CUBE, the latest EP that can be found within the artist’s endlessly expansive catalog. Within the catacombs lay an artifact from a primordial age, untouched by the ravages of time under the protection of the magical wards that surrounded it and sealed within a series of hidden chambers and mazelike passages filled with untold horrors and traps that would deter even the most determined of invaders. The extent of this labyrinth was necessitated by the twin opposing powers represented by the artifact and its resting place, each capable of causing untold destruction should they be unleashed upon the world without being kept in check by the other. As such, the pair had been frozen in time this way for millennia, a lasting warning of the old powers that were better left unawakened.

In cataclysms that created the world, beings of unrestrained primordial energy roamed the land and constantly reshaped it to their will amidst a never-ending chaos of destruction. Those minor beings who hid beneath their feet had little recourse against the incursions of these beasts, and even should one be felled by their greatest of warriors it would only be reborn again from within the heart of the primordial chaos. So it was that the most skilled mages & craftsmen among them toiled for generations to create a blade that could pierce this endlessly beating heart, and bring tranquility to this world that had suffered under chaos for so long. Thus it was that the wards had been set and that the great labyrinthine temple had been constructed, for as the blade pierced the heart of all primordials it did further seal their power within the wound, so requiring that it may never be removed again lest it let their power spill forth into the world once more. To truly murder beings of such power, the ancestors had learned, one must hold the blade within their viscera for all eternity.

NUVERTAL after a brief appearance on Gydra’s album delivers his debut EATBRAIN release onto the ears of the label’s horde with REAL MURDER, an EP featuring three solo tracks and a collaborative work with EATBRAIN veterans GYDRA. Within, NUVERTAL brings a set of sonics that surge upon the oscillations of the EP’s electrified synths, fusing finely honed highs with devastatingly weighted basses for a work that is ready to energize the monstrous hearts of the EATBRAIN horde.

Born atop the forgotten ruins of a crumbling city, a new civilization had emerged from the ruin wrought by demonkind upon the landscape that lay beneath them. Lead by their prophets of a new and powerful faith, the people of this civilization had risen up against the demon kings, wielding the magic of their divine allies as weapons with which to exorcise their being once more from the land. This war though hard fought had born fruit, and with the slaying of the final demon the people had rejoiced, celebrating their victories with monumental constructions to mark the beginning of a new and golden era. Foremost of these was the great cathedral that lay at the heart of their new city, built both as a space of worship for the populace and as an eternal ward of imprisonment for the souls of demonkind which could not be slain, forever condemning them to an incorporeal existence under the watchful eye of the divine.

Ages had passed since then, and time had once again ground its steady edge against the minds of the people and upon the stones and timbers that had supported the great city for so long. Ritual had been forgotten, and structures of greater grandeur had been built as the city expanded, relegating it’s once monumental cathedral to neglect. Thus it was that the falling of only a single candle had lit an aged timber in it’s great hall, in so doing weakening the ancient wards that had kept the demonic spirits at bay. Ever vigilant in their ceaseless desire to escape, the demon kings fanned this flame with their focused ire, nurturing it from a single mote into a overwhelming conflagration that tore at the runic chains that had bound them for so long. Born atop the forgotten ruins of a crumbling city, a new civilization had emerged from the ruin wrought by demonkind upon the landscape that lay beneath them. Lead by their prophets of a new and powerful faith, the people of this civilization had risen up against the demon kings, wielding the magic of their divine allies as weapons with which to exorcise their being once more from the land. This war though hard fought had born fruit, and with the slaying of the final demon the people had rejoiced, celebrating their victories with monumental constructions to mark the beginning of a new and golden era. Foremost of these was the great cathedral that lay at the heart of their new city, built both as a space of worship for the populace and as an eternal ward of imprisonment for the souls of demonkind which could not be slain, forever condemning them to an incorporeal existence under the watchful eye of the divine.

Ages had passed since then, and time had once again ground its steady edge against the minds of the people and upon the stones and timbers that had supported the great city for so long. Ritual had been forgotten, and structures of greater grandeur had been built as the city expanded, relegating it’s once monumental cathedral to neglect. Thus it was that the falling of only a single candle had lit an aged timber in it’s great hall, in so doing weakening the ancient wards that had kept the demonic spirits at bay. Ever vigilant in their ceaseless desire to escape, the demon kings fanned this flame with their focused ire, nurturing it from a single mote into a overwhelming conflagration that tore at the runic chains that had bound them for so long.
