method: layering, understanding which kind of noise suits where
narration: what happens to characters in children‘s stories after the fairy-tale‘s told? to follow up on grimm‘s tale of two children lost in the woods, this soundscape drowns the first and the last poem of my kaleidoscope-cycle in apt kinds of noise. this static arises along the edges, ledges, margins and rims where the uncollected and recollected protrudes into the unknown. ah, the wind sings!

All Gretchen‘s life
she had made haste
to catch up on
refractions of her youth,

yet all the scattered
crumbs of light only
led her deeper and
deeper into the dark:

The world‘s a forest -

By and by, Hänsel lost sight
of everyone. His parents vanished
in the maze of their empty pantry.
His sister, he lost in the dark.
He then left the forest, simply,
and was shanghaied in a hustle.

Having crossed the equator
on numerous seas, he managed
to blindside the crew and be left behind
on some remote jungle island.

Blinded by the bright
southern sun, he lived on
in a kaleidoscope world, con-
fusing himself for light‘s shadow.

Fugue For Thought Remaster

Is there always danger in risk?  Or can risk be exciting and freeing? Playing it safe may be smart, but for me, I was too busy trying to please others, and fear of failure. I always played it safe on the piano. I was afraid to make a mistake.  Now I improvise, and take lots of risks.  But most of all, I play what makes me feel good.  I can dream about all the emotions and desires music has brought into my life. I can fly!
