A village burns and leaves a scar on Mother Earth
The scented flames ascend beyond the fallen ruins
And helpless cries are stilled beneath the weight of senseless birth
A sacrifice is offered by the architects of doom

A figurehead is raised to cull the subjects’ praise
The attributes of God are transferred to his name
Unwarranted, his show of wrath and force belie his fears
His stature grows, but only death and pain support his claim

And so the game is played
No fears are allayed

a part of my morning routine is making a coffee, and a recent mishap resulted in the smashing of my sugar bowl lid, the bowl itself was already cracked but i was fine with that, so lately i'd make the coffee and think to look up sugar bowls as locally the selection has been crap/nonexistent... by the time i'm settled in for the rest of my morning i've completely forgotten about it... so this is an audio reminder to get a sugar bowl finally.
