Gather Up Glamour“, die erste Scheibe der Thuner So Wasted, beinhaltet fünf Songs und entstand letzten Sommer in den InnerEar Studios in der deutschen Stadt Pforzheim. Die Reise nach Deutschland hat sich gelohnt. Für eine so junge Schweizer Band kommt die Platte ganz schön erwachsen rüber und kann schon im ersten Moment überzeugen. Aus eigener Erfahrung, weiss ich, dass es nicht einfach ist, eine radiotaugliche Scheibe zu produzieren. Das Album „Gather up Glamour“ vermag jedoch auch auf den zweiten Blick zu überzeugen. Die Tracks erzeugen einen gemütlichen Flow und bleiben schnell im Ohr hängen. Der Sound erinnert stark an Bands wie All Time Low, Sum 41 oder Blink 182. Sollte es jemals eine Schweizer Version von American Pie geben, wären die Songs von So Wasted bestens geeignet, dem Film das musikalische College-Feeling zu verleihen. Es ist daher nicht verwunderlich, dass sich Texte vorwiegend den Themen Party und Mädchen widmen, dies jedoch mit einem Charme, welchen den Sound definitiv nicht ins Lächerliche zieht.So Wasted haben auf dieser Scheibe einiges richtig gemacht, dennoch würde etwas mehr Abwechslung sicherlich nicht schaden. Alle fünf Tracks kommen im gängigen Pop-Punk-Schema daher, was die Abgrenzung des einzelnen eher schwer gestaltet - Ganz klar das ist Meckern auf hohem Niveau. Viele Bands aus unserer Region kommen mit ihren ersten Gehversuchen im Studio nicht annähernd an die Qualität von So Wasted heran und so dürfen die Thuner Jungs absolut stolz auf ihr erstes Werk sein. - Ep Review Rawk.ch -
