The music by Yan Kruau & Michele Ottini was first released in 2017 on 60 tapes only. Subject To Restrictions Discs makes them available on vinyl for the first time. Very raw, somewhere between darkwave and electro with soundtrack elements, the 6 tracks on “L'ultimo Di Noi” explore a yet not so common musical world. This release is limited to 200 copies.

The ‘Emergence’ series was the first fully-fledged project of Bella Ursa's head honcho Letherique, aimed at experimenting with the boundaries of his many influences – no matter if its techno, disco, electro, or ambient. It helped forge his identity through much trial and error and ultimately led to the creation of the Bella Ursa imprint.

As now is the time to finally move forward in peace, we thought it would be nice to release a mixtape compiling all these early works, along with a few extra and unreleased tracks. To make this collection complete, he entrusted many of his friends met over the years with each producing a remix of their choice. Harnessing the power from a multitude of different scenes, ‘Emergence Remixed’ offers a brand-new journey into uncharted horizons, where Morodesque disco meets mind-altering electro-jazz and cinematic delights reminiscent of Lalo Schifrin’s soundtracks.

Phase 1 of the Bella Ursa mothership is now complete. Onward to Infinity and Beyond!

Shifting Gears aka Hoshina Anniversary readies ‘Drum Nation’ for toucan sounds this January.

Hailing from Tokyo, Japan, Hoshina Anniversary has previously appeared on ESP Institute, Musar Recordings, and Young Marco’s Safe Trip, fusing traditional Japanese instrumentation with House & Techno sensibilities across his productions. Arriving now on Brooklyn’s toucan sounds label under his Shifting Gears moniker, the DJ/producer turns in two Jazz and Hard Bop inspired club-not-club tracks on ‘Drum Nation’.

Leading the release, title cut ‘Drum Nation’ sees loose drums and jazz scales meet crunchy production, delivering a deeply musical and punchy house track. ‘Average Hoshina Sounds’ sees more delightfully lo-fi production as wonky stabs and glistening pads culminate in an energetic mid-point build-up, making for a high energy dancefloor-focussed accompaniment to the title track

Amsterdam's LOVE APE joins us for our eighth release, bringing his organic and melodic production to the Sawah Indah EP. Inspired by a visit to Bali, the tropical atmosphere infects each track with a warmth and depth, showcasing the producer's talent for creating a mood that's both languid and energised. 'Beachnap' could be a lost DFC Records classic, channeling the famous Italian label's best dreamy house moments with a track that is pure modern balearica. Breathy vocals and organic melodies kiss together as heavenly rhodes keys lead the dance. 'Dance With The Apes' chugs into late night territory; with intoxicating swirling synths, ethnic percussion and a steamy ambience that drives the tension up. 'Ricefields' is a deeper, contemplative jam again rich in atmosphere. Joe Morris chills the mood out further on 'Beachnap', slowing the tempo while sprinkling a touch of acid for a mellow remix to complement the deep red sun as it dips behind a sparkling horizon. Gold Suite completes the Indonesian connection, the Bali based artist turns out a superlative reworking of 'Dance With The Apes'. With great musicality and structure, additional guitars and strings are brought to the fore making for an emotive and joyful finish to the release.
