I wrote and recorded this song a little under a year ago in the basement of an abandoned church. I recorded it on my iPhone's voice memos app, so the quality is not all there but the emotion came through. Feel free to listen and enjoy to my original tune.

Nose Dive

This past Thursday night after Kanye‘s Vultures release party, I was robbed. I was pulled into an alley and my wallet and phone were forcibly taken from me. When I asked for them back, the guy threatened to shoot me in the head.

I spent the next day at the DMV and around town replacing my stolen items. I was stuck with the thought of how lucky I am, and how differently things could’ve gone.

After that long day, I sat behind the drums and let myself go. I decided to record this as a soundtrack for my eventful night. From getting robbed, running through the concrete jungle of River North looking for help, and eventually getting saved by Loyola PD and getting home - This track reminds me of those moments and has helped me deal with the mix of emotions that has followed. All I had access to were my drums and a keyboard, but there’s some beauty in the simplicity of that. 

Some of life’s greatest and worst moments can happen within such a little time of each other. In the grand scheme of things, all these moments are just drops in the bucket. 

I decided to call this track “Drops in the Bucket (they got me for my foams)”. I’ll call the lil snippet here the Loyola PD theme song haha. Full track will be posted on soundcloud
