At one point last year, I thought I was done with my #alonetogether live streams (if you missed some, check my Youtube channel). Not that I don’t enjoy those streams, I do very much, but playing in front of real people just can’t be beaten. Anyways, since this pandemic is somehow never-ending, I decided to dust off my streaming equipment and lock myself in again, just before X-Mas, for five and a half hours in my Stream Rave Cave, to play some music. Today´s show contains the second hour of the complete set, as usual, in a better audio quality than in the video stream. Of course, the video is still in its full glory on my Youtube Channel as well. If you are on Mixcloud Select, you can even download this set and a lot more music on your phone. I hope you enjoy this one, I really did playing it. It is actually fun to do those streams on my own, essentially taking care of the lights, visuals, internet connection, stream, camera angles, hot teas (it was cold in there) - oh yeah.. and the music of course… This set is delivered in 5 parts, so watch out for it...

On January 22nd I played my only gig in January, yes, thanks to the omicron wave we had to deal with loads of cancellations once more beginning of this year. But I do think this pandemic is soon over, the world opens up again and we will see us more and more on the dance floor. Nevertheless, that one gig that I played in January was an absolute treat. It was for @blackworksclub at the venue La Rivera in Madrid, and I am not sure exactly what it was, but the night was a total blast. What a crowd! For those who were there and read this now, thanks so much for those awesome vibes! You went totally wild, jumped on top of each other and didn’t stop raving and smiling, not even only for a minute. What an energy in that place, kind of made up for all the non happening gigs that month. Thank you so much. I hope that comes across in the recording. This is the first of three hours that I played there, hope you enjoy the set!

This week´s AMFM is the fifth hour of a 7 h set that I played in a very special location. The club is called Distillery and is in Leipzig Germany. It is the longest running club that I have played at in my DJ career. My first gig there was part of the Harthouse 100 Tour in September 1996. The club has an upstairs floor and a downstairs basement floor. The basement is the smaller of both floors and that was the one I got to play in 1996. Since the club now goes into its final year, I wanted to once more play in the basement, so I did an all night long set on May 25th 2022. I started at midnight and ended shortly after 7 in the morning, playing quite a few classics as well. Sadly, due to a technical issue, I didn't manage to save a tracklist, so I appreciate any help that I can get with that in the comments from all of you! (Well I know what I played, it is just quite a lot of work to reconstruct that...) I hope you enjoy this whole set, it was very special to me and quite emotional at times, as I had loads of great memories popping up during my time down there, from all the amazing times that I got to have in this fantastic venue over the years. A big thanks goes out to the whole crew of the club, especially to Steffen, who has been running this place passionately since the beginning and is currently preparing the move into a new location by January 2023. Once more this is a reminder, how important the club scene is for our music and that we all should always support our local clubs. In the end they are the foundation for the music, for the resident DJs and for the crowd that enjoys a good time together. We would be nowhere without those kind of clubs run by passionate people for so many years. Long live Distillery Leipzig!

AMFM I 416 - Live @Printworks / London, February 12th 2023 - Part 1/1

A big change is coming. More next week, but I thought before all that happens I take you back in time. I have various boxes full of hard disks and I have been recording my sets since like more than 15 years really, so I have quite a collection. I randomly chose a box and within that box randomly chose a disk and found a set I played at the famous Florida 135 on March 1st 2014. So almost exactly 9 years ago. Here is the first hour of that set. I thought it might be nice for a change to check back what I did 9 years ago and you can judge if my skills and music selection has improved or.. well, the opposite … you tell me in the comments below ;)

Amazing sound system, huge dance floor, DJ booth on almost the same level at the end of the room, all black and amazing lights and visuals – a perfect place to get lost in the groove. This time I played an all night long set, started at 1 and ended at some point after 6. The techno kingpin delivers an hour of fury

The 10th edition of Sangoma Records will be performed by Japanese label DJ BUZZ. It is also a kind of ‘On the Way to Ozora’ edition ’cause this year BUZZ will play w/ label runner Till DAKSINAMURTI on the Main Stage.

DJ BuzZ is a Psychedelic Trance DJ and organizer from Kobe, Japan. Since 2006 Eiichi is establishing his “God Of Death” events in the Kansai area especially around Osaka and Kobe. He has collaborated with other promoters, such as Yabai and Matsuri and introduced fresh and established artists from around the world to the vivid Japanese crowd.
BuzZ played all over Japan and China and his passionate energy shined through his banging sets that caught the attention of Sangoma Records. In 2015 he released his first compilation “Tanuki Tandava” on Sangoma and had his first Europe tour with sets in Germany and at the Psy-Fi Festival in the Netherlands.

Eiichi’s DJ sets are best around midnight — the time when the energy needs to maintain its intensity but still stay vigilant with the flow of the crowd in the underground scene of Osaka. Picking the right track for the right moment is his métier.

We at Sangoma Records guarantee that this artist from the land of the rising sun will blow you away. Watch out for his mainfloor set together with label-manager Daksinamurti at Ozora Festival 2016.

Next up in the Forestdelic Records series is Sutemi with a brand new selection.

With Jungle and Hard Techno influences since 1994, João Carlos began his journey as a DJ in 2000. Playing “Dark” and “Forest” Psychedelic and its nuances since 2002, he is one of the pioneers of this style in Brazil, been involved at the underground brazilian scene evolution.
He’s been the only Brazilian representative of indian labels Temple Twisters and Tremors Underground since 2006 and 2007, releasing his first compilation in 2011, entitled “Swamp Fever”. By 2014, he was again the first brazilian to be invited to the DJ roster and then as south-american label manager by Forestdelic Records (Slovenia), where he released his second compilation, the “Tropical Swamp Volume I” – a dedicated project only to Brazilian Forest producers, and the Volume II is coming up soon. By 2016 was invited to represent the Sanaton Records in Brazil, how the business manager and also as a DJ.
Furthermore, he returned to the path of musical production and remains in the studio, seeking to evolve his sound experiments.

In words, a technical trial: Creating atmospheres that fill spaces and exchanges between internal universes beyond the terrain, driving with hypnotic and strong bass lines, activating feelings that are revealed in the fire dance. Spontaneously freedom is felt in the melodies that as the wind does not always blow gently. His presentations flow like ocean water, where the unpredictability planned cycles, paradoxically can not be exactly repeated.

In addition to his Djing activities, acts as event organizer and artist manager, working at many parties and festivals throughout the country. As one of Forest Family’s head organizers until October 2014, his most recent creation was the trilogy project “Aranyaka – The Forest Book” that closed his cycle on this crew.
Makunba on every Friday 13th was another very important project that was created by Sutemi and Rafahell, originally designed for Paraná since 2007, but springing additional tour editions in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Portugal.
Currently, he works at Zuvuya Festival, Pulsar Festival, Kundalini Festival, Makunba and Universo Parallelo Festival’s (Forest).

He has brought many interesting international artists for events that he curated such as Derango, Makadam, Hallucinogenic Horses, Gojja, Procs, Encephalopaticys, Zik, Orestis, Polyphonia, Kerosene Club/Flipknot, Will O Wisp, Glosolalia, Megalopsy, DarkWhisper, Goch, Baba Yaga, Seki Kmeki, Paranoiac, Zoolog, AnnoyingNinjas, Battle of the Future Buddhas, Shiva3, Kala, Dhar Mhar, Yudhistira, Stranger, Kokobloko/Darkshire, Taigan Sunset, Time for Slime, Demoniac Insomniac and Whrikk. He also works closely with all the brazilian artists of this genres.

Chris Liebing is synonymous with techno. His legacy is long assured, but his craft never stops evolving. Whether as label head, podcast curator, DJ or producer, he continues to challenge himself and his audience to explore new realms in the electronic world. And often ahead of the curve, too, from the early, hard-edged and loopy 90s sound which is back en vogue today, through his more stripped-back turn of the millennium minimalism and onto the cinematic atmospheres and broader alternative electronica of his latest albums on Mute. It's no stretch to say, then, that Chris Liebing's story is closely connected to the story of techno itself. 

Liebing is considered a global techno ambassador, but his ambitious album projects and direct club tracks excite and innovate as much as any new school star. A proudly forward-thinking attitude ensures that is the case as his DJ tools and studio setup constantly evolve. He continues to be an early adopter of emerging technology, too, just as he was with vinyl controllers, Traktor and when leading the way with full hybrid/live DJing. 

These days, Liebing incorporates an ever wider sphere of sound into his own work. After an eight-year break from full lengths, 2018's Burn Slow on Mute was a creative rebirth that received critical acclaim and confounded all expectations. It was a melancholic mediation on gothic moods, looming apocalyptic landscapes and optimistic broken-beat techno that drew from his childhood love of Depeche Mode, Gary Numan and the New Romantic movement. 

Remixes for Depeche Mode and Goldfrapp followed alongside a collaborative single with Charlotte De Witte, and 2021 brought a second album on Mute, Another Day. It found Liebing exploring all new ways of expressing both his euphoric and melodic side, all with high-grade technical skill and meticulous sonic craft with a range of collaborators from Miles Cooper Seaton to Polly Scattergood. This exceptional form continued into 2023 as he returned to the club with his Love Those Who Fight With Passion And Faith EP on CLR, a passionate and politically charged call to the dance floor that joined Liebing and Luke Slater’s remix of Depeche Mode’s iconic ‘Ghosts Again’ in the first half of the year. 

Born in Giessen and active ever since the 1990s, Liebing has always platformed the talent around him as much as himself: a long time before they were commonplace, he famously helmed his own CLR podcast. For many years, it was the scene's most influential series, with a who's who of international pioneers at the helm. After that came the equally important AM/FM radio show, but now following a hiatus, the CLR podcast is back and pushing a fresh techno agenda, as is his iconic label of the same name.

In its first chapter, CLR stood for Chris Liebing Records, then Create Learn Realize, and now Create Learn Repeat - a subtle evolution that is at the heart of everything Liebing does. The label will always be synonymous with exciting techno and is now back hosting parties and festival stages. 

Though his music is underpinned by pulsating menace and a stomping sense of drama, Liebing himself is friendly with a famous smile. It is the music that motivates him and the freedom that comes with increased experience. These days there are no limits, no expectations, but a continued love for the art and craft of techno that is taking him down all new creative pathways.
