Next up on PAPA RECORDS we are delighted to welcome for a debut EP release, the fantastic Deep House vibes of SAISON.

The SAISON boys have been building quite a rep over the last couple of years with some incredible music released on top labels such as TOOLROOM, SUARA and GUESTHOUSE.

Dutchman Michel de Hey is back with a first ever studio album titled ‘Let It Go’. Due for release on Thursday 3rd October, it comes as a digital-only album on the In The Future label with a special all-nighter in Toffler Rotterdam (b2b de Sluwe Vos) and a 10HRS set at Thuishaven with Benny Rodrigues confirmed.

de Hey has been a respected DJ, producer and label boss for more than 30 years. He always captures audiences with a continuous element of surprise and constantly innovative sounds. He has played everywhere from Berlin to Ibiza to Japan and released on his own HEY! Records/EC Records, Noir Music, Bedrock and Rejected amongst many others.

This fantastic new album represents the last six years of Michel’s life, which have been his busiest yet. It is one firmly aimed at the dance floor, just how Michel likes it, and some tracks feature his own vocals, all of which are designed to make you forget about the world around you. Some of the tracks have previously been released as vinyl only or anonymously, and the artist himself says:

“In the time this was written, I moved to Amsterdam, I got divorced, I had too many long weekends, I turned 50 and most importantly, after 30 years, I finally re-found the pleasure and satisfaction of working in the studio. I can listen to all the tracks with pleasure and pride although each track stands for a different phase in my grieving process and getting over my various turmoils.”

Musically the album packs a real punch across ten tight tracks, from the deep opening grooves of ‘Dawning’ to the more unhinged synths and spinning hi-hats of the cosmic ‘I Am Not Looking For’. ‘Just One Turn’ is pure, infectious house music, while ‘I Just Want More And More’ ups the ante with punchy drums but melancholic chords. Elsewhere there are stripped back dub house cuts like ‘Wednesday’, masterfully melodic and hypnotic rollers like ‘Sail With Me’ and dreamy, pad laced closer ‘So Cold’.

This is an effortlessly cool and absorbing house track that takes you on a real trip to the heart of the dance floor in real style.

Tour-Maubourg & Cosmonection - Orange Glue (Virage Records)

After releasing the ‘High Life' remixes just before summer and their more electronic EP on Aus Music, it’s time to get label heads Detroit Swindle back on Heist. They come in with full force, delivering a set of Swindle styled house tracks, accompanied by a jazzy remix by Volcov in his Isoul8 moniker with guest appearances by Kaidi Tatham on keys and Nigel Bennett on vocals.  
 The EP kicks off with ‘The life behind things’; a life affirming soulful house tune that’s cleverly built around a set of switching organ stabs. The energy in this track keeps on building with the filter slowly opening up while live percussion oozes its way through the track (courtesy of Mauskovic Dance Band member Chris Bruining). After a well working surprise acid break, the track breaks down into a jazzy organ solo by Byron the Aquarius, building up momentum till the full track comes back in for a ecstatic delivery of feel-good dancefloor emotions. 
 The second original of this ep is Detroit Swindle’s view on what a party-starting piano house track should sound like with ‘Music for clubs’. This track is all about rolling drums, lush piano stabs and possibly the funkiest baseline in four-to-the-floor house music. The latter two are made possible by the quick finger work of their live show collaborator and close friend Lorenz Rhode.  
 The full B side goes to Volcov’s remix of “The life behind things”. He takes his inspiration from the energy of the original and chooses to set a steady groove where the lush key work of Kaidi Tatham shines both on the chords and a muscle-flexing organ solo. The vocal sample from the original is accompanied by some great ad-libs by Nigel Bennett. With these elements working together in perfect harmony, you can practically feel the good vibes these 3 friends had when recording the remix. 
 It’s been on our to-do list for a while to record a full-on house record, and we hope this one does the trick for you as much as it does for us. 
 If you’d happen to be around town during ADE this year, you can get this record a week ahead of its worldwide release exclusively at our Pop up shop on Elandsgracht 55. Apart from the record, we’ll have a limited edition collaboration collection available with Amsterdam-based streetwear brand Baskèts, loads of DJ’s playing sets and you could also just come by for a drink or two.

Harrison BDP has been a familiar face in the Haŵs sphere for a while now, with both parties hailing from the Welsh capital and notorious for sell-out records perpetuating sell-out events across the board. Harry launches his first full EP on the label after appearing on the debut Haŵs VA release back in 2018. Championing a sound that draws upon classic deep house influences, the rising star now carves his own brand of nuanced, contemporary dance music.

Prolific Italian artist Yaya takes to his Tamango Records imprint to release his highly anticipated debut album 'You Decide', which is packed with an extensive array of house flavors. Among the new material is 'Lost Beach', an energetic deep house cut with techy textures and a powerful rhythm. 

Since being picked up by Loco Dice and Desolat in 2009, Yaya has moved from strength to strength, releasing via the likes of Cadenza, Be As One, Celesta Recordings, Roush and more. Fusing his African ethnic roots with his Italian upbringing, his sound eclectic sound profile continues to make waves throughout clubland. Now his debut album, his most extensive project to date, showcases his unique approach to dancefloor material.

Yaya had this to say on the vision behind the new material: "It's called ‘You Decide’ because I firmly believe that each one of us is solely responsible for their actions, choices and consequences. All the times of your life, you decide. This album was produced during this past year in different periods and different places: from India to Miami, from Peru to the Maldives, so I hope you can spot where each track takes inspiration from.”

Premiere: Yaya 'Lost Beach'

Julien Veniel aka D’Julz celebrates 10 years of his influential label Bass Culture Records with a 10 track compilation packed with 10 new tracks showcasing the label's signature deep and driving house sound.

Rounding out the release is 'Synchronicity', a deep and moody house cut produced by the label head himself. Here D'Julz dips into the smooth and sophisticated side of his sound profile, delivering warm and enveloping melodies wrapped around a driving 4/4 rhythm. Pure bliss on the dancefloor. 

The '10 Years of Bass Culture' compilation, which also includes tracks by Mr. G, Leo Pol, Sebo K, Franco Cinelli and more, is released via digital outlets and in three vinyl volumes November 29.
