Next up on Made Of Concrete is an EP from a true label mainstay - part of the lifeblood of the label; Toni Dextor.

Currently based in Berlin - Dextor has also released a slew of releases on labels such as Planet Rhythm, Adroit and Sektor Evolution. 

Also included in the package is a remix from Zürich based Jelena - the branch between the two being her involvement with Adroit.

'The Focus' kicks things off with an urgent, wrought iron loop that hacks it's way through intensifying drums which build towards a mangled and mind-bending breakdown. The pressure doesn't let up as the tracks charges to it's conclusion, propelled by a kick as hefty as a mallet that keeps you trapped in a bit-crushed cage.

'R14' then follows up with a highly effective, capacious Techno track. With drums as thick as they come - panned, reverberated textures and a consistent stab are suffused with a metallic texture that provides a chilly but highly kinetic energy before Jelena's remix brings the record to a close.

Her interpretation sets shimmering subs create a buoyant bed for the track - the kick bounces off from it as another pupil-widening sequence wades in. An elongated breakdown reaches it's zenith before letting go in a manner guaranteed to send the floor into rapture.

He practicly lives in his studio, where he works a lot on his music productions and live sets. Creating groovy and dark drum patterns and tweaking his acid-machines. His passion for synthesizers, quick dynamics, fast grooves and dark sounds all comes forth in his dj and live-sets.

ORBE - Post-Cycle [Premiere I NSG003]

My next guest on Yax Invites is FØCUS, a DJ duo from Hanover, Germany, who've started their project in 2017, as they share the same passion for electronic music and culture.

After a few months of DJing in their own walls, they first showed their skills at private house parties. Their sets have been characterized by melodic, deep and raw techno.

This was followed by an exciting time with performances in the former club "Weidendamm" in Hanover. During this time they founded also the  collective „unsigned“ with friends from hometown.

Before the pandemic, the two played as newcomers, in other clubs and events. In addition, they continuously released sets and podcasts on SoundCloud. In the home office period, føcus recently started the series "Torus Serial" consisting of various sets that reflect your current musical influence.
