I saw a recent documentary about The Salton Sea. It is a remarkable place and an interesting story.

This is my simple cover of the 1968 Dion song written by Dick Holler and well known for its socio-political message. Thanks again to my dear friend Nat Daniels for kindly adding her standup bass and tasteful production to my rough iPhone recording. The memories and message live on and we hope the lessons will guide future generations forever.

My lifelong and best friend Mikey B. (a brilliant wood master) made and then GAVE me this Guitar. this was His first effort at building a guitar. The body is Spalted Maple and has a hand worked arched top, the neck is made from a center cut from a Huge maple branch that fell in a winter storm several years ago..  Frets and inlays all done by hand the rose wood fretboard was purchased as a block and worked down to it present state. Powered by acoupla Seymore Duncan jet packs. with Grover Tuners a neck adjustment.. the finest adustable bridge. Everything about this guitar is Sublime and plays like a dream with action so sweet.  I have never played a guitar of this spectacular quality.. This song, is  a little test drive..

Of course I’ll come to your shindig, but only if you’re going to be there too.  I wrote this in 1998 after I’d been to a lot of weddings.  I’ve always liked the chord sequence to this, it makes me happy to play it.

These tracks are all demos of songs that I have written over the last 30+ years, in that time I’ve filled a couple of exercise books with quite a bit of music.  The songs here are all recorded using my 28 year old Washburn guitar and GarageBand on my iPad with a cheap mic in my front room usually with a cup of coffee.  I hope you like them 🙂
