According to the legendary story of her life and suffering, Solina, daughter of noble pagan parents, learned about Christianity in her youth and vowed virginity. Because her parents wanted to marry her off, she fled to Chartres, where she lived in a monastic house dedicated to Mary. During the persecution of Christians under Emperor Diocletian, she was brought before his bench under the prefect Quirinus, confessed to be a Christian, resisted flattery and threats, and was thrown into prison, then sentenced to death and beheaded.

Christians buried Solina on the site of what later became the Abbey of Saint-Père-en-Vallée in Chartres. Many miracles occurred at her tomb through her intercession. Later her bones were placed in a gilded shrine.

Mill Lane is our temporary rehearsal space this year - located in the nth suburbs of Hobart its a huge warehouse that is in the process of being emptied of museum equipment. Each week the space gets bigger and more cathedral like as the crates go out the roller door. Heres a little taste from the other night.. you will need to excuse me on 2 fronts - My zoom seems to be reaching the end of its life so the recordings is pretty scratchy and 2 I reckon i am a bit out of tune... anyway the energy is good and the ears locked in to what the other musician is doing which I guess is the main thing. Happy Riffing

"This is a song that began as a bass line I came up with on my four string fretless over a looper. I shared it with Ken (K2 and the Three [and Four], Stephen (Tex Mex Shaman), and Tez (Llanpsych) through BandLan, which we're all on. Ken came up with some perfect drums, as always, to prop up the whole thing. Tez added some killer guitar solos, which you can hear more towards the end, with the ripping tone. Stephen then came in and added the talk box guitar and wah guitar that you hear playing the hook more towards the beginning. It's my first song ever featuring a talk box, and I'm amazed with the part he came up with. It's a major line against my minor bass line. I love how it sounds! Stephen also was kind enough to mix the beast for us, which turned out to be a herculean task. But he was up to it, and a fine job he did, too. It was an honor and a pleasure to work with these guys. We all hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it"

I have been writing songs on and off over the last 30+ years. In that time I’ve filled a couple of exercise books with quite a bit of music. I do my best with a very simple recording set up, the songs are all recorded using my 29 year old Washburn guitar and GarageBand on my iPad with a cheap mic in my front room, usually with a cup of coffee. And some biscuits.
