Steel Grooves is the creative alter ego of DJ / Producer / Audio Engineer Rex Bruton Capital Techno Recordings - Director / Owner

Rex began DJing in 1996 at the age of 15 after attending his first Rave in his home city Austin Tx. Heavily inspired by the early Texas Rave scene, Rex has devoted most of early years his life to pushing dance music forward in the lone star state.by playing the role of Promoter, DJ, Producer, and label owner.

Originally known as D.J.R.J., Rex changed it to Steel Grooves when he started producing his own brand of high energy funky techno. Inspired by Ben Sims's Hardgroove concept, Rex spun his own interpretation to align with his unique style of funky dance floor techno. Rex's initial mission has been to focus on involvement in the local ATX scene. His contributions helped lead the way to many early 90s techno acts reaching Texas including:

Adam Beyer, Frankie Bones, Headroom (Sweden), T-1000, Misstress Barbara, Mike Dearborn, Alexi Delano, Marco Carola, Gataeno Parisio, Danilo Vigorito, Hyperactive, Bam Bam, Fer Br, to name a few. 

After some marginal success with promoting events Rex decided it was time to take the next step into producing his own tracks which lead to his 1st release on FerBr's & Wyrus's Keep on Techno records. From there he went on to form his own label and has released countless tracks under several alias's including,

What started out as a local DJ crew selling Capital Techno t-shirts at parties ended up morphing into a highly respected international techno label with over 100 releases from a wide range of talent across the global techno community. Established in 2010, CTR is the first Techno focused record label out of ATX to reach a worldwide audience. CTR tracks have been supported by top touring DJs and played at countless top clubs/festivals. 

Music is a a religion to Rex that saved him from himself as a troubled teen. DJing is an art form that Rex has spent most of his life crafting a sound inspired by his experiences as a teen growing up in the 90s in Texas. His perspective of dance music + dj culture doesn't align with the commercialism that started w EDM. DJing and manipulating music is a skill that takes time and dedication to master not a shortcut to a life of vanity. Pop culture has mutilated the essence of the underground music scene turning into the very big business machine that it once resisted. Regardless, Rex will always make music and work with like minded individuals when opportunities arise.

Cengiz Cerit aka Cenit look like the kind of guy you like to introduce to your mother-in-law. However, in reality Cenit will lend you all his equipment if he knows it's for the greater good, and then cook you dinner afterwards. A music fanatic since day one, Cenit's nice-guy vibe and charisma is hard not to feel when you see him behind the decks.

His love for everything that falls under the umbrella of 'Techno' hasn't swayed from all those years ago when he was one of few to start getting into the scene. In Hamburg's back-then place-to-be 'Voila' he kicked off his career, playing along the likes of Oliver Moldan, Thomas Schumacher, Hardy Hard, Louis Osbourne, Tomcraft, Asem Shama, Andre Nalin, Karotte, Toni Rios, Martin Eyerer and Oliver Klein. Has played in various clubs like Phonodrome, Waagenbau, Baalsaal, Edelfettwerk, Fundbureau, Hühnerposten, SM-Bar, Kukuun... Since then he has brought out many of his own records, self-described as floating inbetween Deep-House, Tech-House and Techno.

Cengiz Cerit alias „Cenit“ sieht zwar nicht aus wie der nette Junge, den man gerne den Schwiegerelten vorstellt, aber dieser Herr trägt das Herz am rechten Fleck, sprüht vor Charisma und ist ausserdem ein musikalischer Fanat seit der ersten Stunde, dem man gerne für einen Abend sein Equipment überlässt... Die Liebe zum weitreichenden Techno Genre begann sehr früh und hat bis heute nicht an Intensität eingebüßt. Zu einer Zeit, als Technomusik noch einer sehr geringen Anzahl von Menschen zugeschrieben wurde, war Cenit bereits Fan. 

Im Hamburger Szeneclub „Voilà“ begann für Cengiz der erste Kontakt zur elektronischen Musikszene, indem er dort einen Resident Job bekommt und 3 Jahre erfolgreich auflegt..zeitgleich knüpfte er Kontakte zu Labels, wie „Tussipop“ und zog wild durch die Hamburger Clublandschaft (Phonodrome, Waagenbau, Baalsaal, Edelfettwerk, Fundbureau, Hühnerposten, SM-Bar, Kukuun, Loco Partyreihe u.v.m.), legte mit Größen, wie Oliver Moldan, Thomas Schumacher, Hardy Hard, Louis Osbourne, Tomcraft, Asem Shama, Andre Nalin, Karotte, Toni Rios, Martin Eyerer, Oliver Klein und weiteren auf. Seitdem hat der junge Mann viel produziert und seinen eigenen Sound, beeinflusst von Dubfire, Joris Voorn, Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Carl Cox, Adam Beyer etc., gefunden und bewegt sich musikalisch im Deep-, und Tech-House bishin zu Techno.
