t’s exciting times here at PHW for different reasons, as we are to bring you the 150th release on our original label to daylight today as well as having one of our favorite producing guiding our followers as the Brazilian ace Morttagua is the one being on board this week. With his music supported numerous times by Above & Beyond and Armin Van Buuren to mention some of them loving his music, we of course feel stoked to have him on to PHW once again, this time with the 2 massive tracks “Emperium” and “Cronus”.

“Emperium” is a wonderful production created by the Rio living producer. With an enormous drive built, that with flying melodic hooks and sweet vocal additions, Morttagua once again makes us speechless with this creative masterpiece. It has that truly majestic feel, and we are both thankful and happy that he wanted to join us for this 150th release.

The 2nd production involved on this release, as said baptized as “Cronus” is another flying gem from the master. With a fantastic drive and superb melodic lines written, the Brazilian once more proves his name, as one of the absolutely best in the business.

Another proud PHW moment is here, and we so hope you will enjoy what we have brought alive for you!

Having first appeared on Last Night On Earth with the ‘Bring On The Night’ collaboration with Sasha, the prospect of a Teej LP on the label has been rumoured but before that, ‘Liking Your Disorder’ is here to whet the appetite.

Putting a modern and often highly musical slant on the classic punch of house music aesthetics, Teej never fails to deliver fresh sounding material and ‘Liking Your Disorder’ is no different. Fuelled by a 909 flavoured beat that is worked to the maximum without ever overreaching itself, ‘Liking Your Disorder’ throws an elastic synth riff around it’s concise 6 minute length with confidence. Never one to shy away from layering melodies
Teej playfully toys with secondary keys that range from the rhythmic to long held notes which result in an ever changing, densely emotive dancefloor cut.

Timo Maas’ version is very much a remix in the old school sense of the term – using the majority of Teej’s sounds and providing a new slant on them in a subtle and measured manner. Slow burning, increasingly rhythmic and with just the right amount of peaks and troughs, it’s a master class in arrangement.

French electronic music producer and DJ, Yuksek, launches his label Partyfine with a debut EP on May 13th.

Independency is a key word for Partyfine - the will to participate in every production level of an artist from recording and mixing, to mastering and distribution, to the location of the label, Yuksek's studio in Reims (France). Far from any style diktat, one of Partyfine's aims is to present Yuksek's diverse musical tastes including disco, electro, indie and club.

Beyond all, Partyfine was born to gather a family of talented musicians who could collaborate together around a defined concept using their own backgrounds and desires, releasing great music and throwing down some serious parties.

Yuksek explains: "The label is a natural extension of my past years where I have produced for other artists. I met many of Partyfine's collaborators this way (JD Samson, The Magician, Oh Land, Juveniles etc) and just felt like extending the experience, writing music with them, not just for them".

The first release of the label is the result of an encounter in New York with pop Danish singer and producer Oh Land, and an extension of the collaboration with French electro-pop band Juveniles, whose debut album Yuksek is producing.

The EP will also feature remixes from Michael Garcon (AS Dragon), Sam Tiba (Club Cheval) and DJ-producer Kasper Bjørke.

Chris started producing in 2009 after being an avid listener of trance since the age of 12.

Within a matter of months he sent a track to BBC radio presenter/DJ Dave Pearce - Chris's track went on to be used in Dave's live sets, his podcast 'Trancecast' and again on BBC dance anthems show at the end of the year when he picked it as bedroom producer track of 2009.

He now has a large list of releases, with tracks on Monster Tunes, Discover, Mondo Records, Aria Digital, Couture (Spinnin'), Nukleuz, Camouflage (Bonzai), gaining support and radio plays from artists such as Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, W & W, Rank 1, Andy Moor, Dash Berlin, Matt Darey, tyDi, Giuseppi Ottaviani, Indecent Noise Bobina, Jordan Suckley, Dave Pearce...
 
Currently working on new material and remixes for other up and coming artists, Chris is hopeful that he will find his way into more DJs CD wallets soon!
