Is there anything more wonderfully compelling than the sea? I wanted this to be a loose story starting off warm saturated corals before heading down into weirder uncharted waters. Seeing what crustacean nightmares we come across, discovering lost cities, getting lost in a retro futuristic watery world.

Olympic - Marathon into Leandro Gamez - No Es Otra Cosa. Marathon is this beautifully dusty old trance tune with the most sultry vocals over the top. That with the bass line brought in slowly from No Es Otra, really takes you somewhere else

Hard to pick again but probably @chris_ianson old @On-Rotation-music mix - it’s one I always re-visit every now and then. It’s 4.5hrs of the most seamlessly stitched together deep house/ techno + more. A wonderful example of narrative and pace. Welt Discos' latest delivery is the debut solo record from DJ/producer/radio host Stephen Howe. The Mimesis EP gives us a convincing introduction to his highly musical sound: spontaneous yet tightly arranged, referential yet idiosyncratic, and not afraid to take the odd left turn. From 80s electro dynamism to loopy techno deepness to broken introspection, this is a diverse and surprising set of dancefloor grooves brought together by Stephen's knack for harmony, counterpoint and tone.

Stephen Howe first emerged via his festival-ready SH refixes of Ojerime and Oklou, the latter of which got played on Radio 1's Essential Mix. He has also appeared on Rhythm Section's SHOUTS 2022 compilation with the track 'Flow State', and on Peach Discs' Peach Pals Vol. 3 with 'Body Heat'. He hosts a bi-monthly radio show  on Refuge Worldwide named after his beloved SH-101.

Fusing dub-style mixing and effects with technical finesse, their complex blend of sonic ingredients draw from ambient soundscapes, IDM, 90s trance, dubbed-out house, techno and more. Fresh from dropping an EP with our good friends space:lab, Rambal Cochet delivers a mind-melting A1 to start things off. Deep, tasteful and making full use of his trademark sound design, “Meteora” is one for the witching hour! 

Bolam steps up next with the party-starting “Dream Machine”. Colourful synths sit atop driving breaks, with the peak-time energy dialled up to 11. 

Flipping the record reveals a darker, hazier sound. Moisk’s “GooSE Attack” is reminiscent of long nights (and mornings, and afternoons) in the smoky clubs of Berlin and Amsterdam, while the dark, rolling tech house of “X-Stream” by Aussie heroes Primitive Needs is pure afters’ fodder - a real B2 killer for those who know.

On Rotation is a Leeds-based event & mix series turned label, with 6 genre-defining releases featuring scene stalwarts such as Adam Pits, Solar Suite, Anderson, Roza Terenzi and Hybrid Man, Jamie Leather & more.
