Joey Anderson remains committed to the deep rooted sensibilities of House music, it's very much in his DNA - drawing upon influences from the underground of New York city. Over the years he has released some of the most influential records in the genre - EP's on the likes of Latency, Syncrophone Recordings and Deconstruct - albums on the likes of Dekmantel and Avenue 66.

This month marks the release of a new album on Deeptrax.

His sound has always been cemented in a deep, philosophical energy. It's music as much for listening, ambience and mood as it is the dancefloor.

Over the years his music has gone on to reach critical acclaim and gained international recognition but it is his home city and the origins of the musical culture from which he draws strength, not the hype or social media circus.

Not one to dabble in eccentricities his music is stripped back, utilising uniquely programmed machinery to create delicate textures and weird dusty tones which often lead to a unique transcendence.

Joey is an artist we've been keen to feature in this series for a long time now and the result is just as special as we could have imagined...

That One Time is an open format show that gives listeners a chance to get to know these artists on a deeper level, learning the personal stories on what music they first fell in love with and how they got to where they are now. Chris Anderson’s love for dance grooves and deep, soulful sounds can be traced all the way back to his 1990s farmhouse upbringing in Nebraska. The first album he remembers falling in love with was Eric Champion’s futuristic 1994 dance LP ‘Vertical Reality,’ which had already captured the essence of ‘The Matrix’ long before the film even existed. As Chris’s interests in technology and music grew over the years, he honed his skills as both a systems engineer and a drummer. In 2008, he relocated to Boston and extensively gigged with bands across various genres, spanning from progressive metal and jazz fusion to Latin, surf rock, and country. However, he eventually rediscovered his roots in house music and embarked on a deep dive into the underground music scene. Now based in Los Angeles, Mr. Anderson continues to refine his DJ skills through guest mixes on Balamii and NTS, Twitch livestreams, multiple residencies, and club performances. Additionally, he is currently working on original music and has seamlessly integrated cutting-edge real-time visuals into his sets.

In October of this year, Bliss Point was invited to host a takeover of @radio80000 to feature the sound of the label & party. The takeover featured hourlong mixes from six artists who have payed the Bliss Point party, released on the Bliss Point label, or both.

For his contribution to the takeover, @malikhendricks provides an hour of effortlessly feel-good house, the way only he can.
