Lazaros – Visitors EP (SOH002)

Cologne resident Lazaros has caused quite a stir over the past couple of months with futuristic soundscape releases on Nautilus Rising and KX gaining huge support from various key players in the electronic music scene. Now it is time Sandrino‘s long-time buddy returns to Frankey & Sandrino‘s label Sum Over Histories after previously already contributing ‘Moustheni‘ to the label‘s first split EP ‘Path Integral 1’.
‘Visitors EP’ is a four tracker reflecting Lazaros' musical diversity in entirety. The EP‘s eponymous track ‘Visitors‘ comes in two versions. While the first draft is a more dubby approach with a slowly soaking hypnotic synth-melody enfolding its magic in the pace of the track the second version is gaining its strength through a more clubby and technoid vibe. ‘Under the Sun‘ depicts Lazaros‘ philosophy of modern house music with a hypnotic force. The EP‘s journey ends with ‘Odyssee’, a deadly electronica weapon creating an undertow in its progress by continuously adding more flavour until it peaks.

3 QUESTIONS to JONAS SAALBACH:

Q: Talking about your mix. What do these tracks mean to you? How did they shape your career? 

A: To mix „How I Met The Bass“ was a super cool session and truly a flashback to 10 years ago, when I started to listen to electronic music. After I spent so much time with funky beats and the whole Hip Hop culture. For sure the tracks mean a lot to me as they were inspiring and laid to the foundation for my music career. 

Q: I´ve heard there is a new album coming up. Tell us more! 

A: Yes! I worked hard on my second long player ‚Perspective' the last couple of months and I´m happy about the result. It´s a ten tracker and will be release on my homebase label Einmusika Recordings 27th of March on CD and digital format. I would say it´s a well balanced mixture between electronica, melodic club tracks and hypnotic deep house grooves. 

Q: According to your b2b-Live-Act with Einmusik – are there any common releases planned? 

A: We did not plan studio sessions yet, as Samuel (Einmusik) is also working on a new album. But we will extend the back to back live session and combine our two new long players. I love this project and we will have a couple of cool gigs coming up in 2017 in places like Dubai, Cairo and Beirut.

Exactly a year ago label's boss Horizons explored the dark side of Romania finding himself fascinated by the peaceful wide valleys of Densuș. Up on one of the hills, through the thick darkness of an early morning day, there it emerges Saint Nicola's Church, possibly the oldest Romanian church to date. As the first rays of the sun embraces the valley, Horizons' journey turns into a deep emotional story that kicked off with a Gothic intro and evolved into a solid progressive tune that eventually disclosed a pure Trance essence. This is how "The Lights of Densu" came out to the light into Horizons studio and was then given out as a free Christmas gift. That tune sees now a unique Remixed edition package to celebrate our label's 10th release.
