This hard hitting Remix EP brought to us by @REbirth brings us our favorite heart stopping glitch beats remixed by some of our favorite wizards. 

Featuring tracks from Ratchet, Soulular, Duffrey, Dr. Knobz, Megowan, Spoken Bird, Dubzilla, and Squama; these tracks have enough bump to raise your own BPMs. The Silent Hearts: Remixed is making some real noise. 

Rebirth is the name of the current project of Devin Kroes, a California based producer. He began his musical training at the age of five, taking on every instrument he could get his hands on. After being introduced to electronic music production, he shifted his focus to creating melodically driven bass music that uplifts the soul and enlightens the mind. Fusing bubbling bass with rich soundscapes and ancient melodies he seeks to break free from the traditional ideas of genre and transport listeners into another dimension. "The name of this project directly reflects its intention. I want people to truly find themselves through the music and be reborn, walking away with a better sense of their higher purpose." Be on the lookout for this up and comer as he continues to push the boundaries of music and sound.

The Oxidized compilation series is a charity project we have been working on since the inception of The Rust Music, with Oxidized, Vol. 1 being our very first label release in February 2017. At the end of each year we select a new charity, aid organization, or non-profit, to which all proceeds from the series are donated. In the past we have donated to organizations focusing on natural disaster aid, environmental restoration and preservation, as well as civil/human rights advocates and COVID-19 relief efforts on local, national, and international levels. 2022 proceeds from the Oxidized series will be donated to support women’s rights to healthcare and access to abortion, with this year’s donation to be determined towards the end of 2023. 

Across the last 6 years, we've recurrently tapped into a network of both our roster talent and our close associates across the experimental electronic music spectrum to craft our first two Oxidized compilations. Now, for the final entry in the Oxidized Trilogy, we've brought together 32 producers, songwriters, and musicians from the US, the UK, Germany and Georgia to craft 28 tracks that cross through a medley of motifs in Hip-Hop, Drum & Bass, Downtempo, and more. I took one jam and massaged it into this track. around the time I was working on it I met Xenophone, I invited her over to record some vocals and ended up chopping up her alien voice vibes for the chorus.

The Fabric EP finds Northeastern glitch hop head Tygris leading a tour through dark urban nights filled with rumbling bass and distorted voices that echo down hidden sonic passageways. All four songs flow deliberately into the next, with careful motifs connecting the entire project. It kicks off with classic rap vocal samples, ends with dirty, dense verses from the quick-witted Rasp 5, and is punctuated by a collaboration with Wax Future.

Consistent hip-hop rhythms serve as a familiar jumping off point that listeners can lean into. This sets the stage for an interplay of experimental sound design and aggressively manipulated vocal samples. Voices are stretched and peeled apart as Tygris plies them both for their unique sonic properties and their ability to express thoughts. Precise calculations create just the right pitch and veneer on a series of bass synthesizers. Then the entire weight of the sound is tumbled to and fro, tossed, turned and mashed down like a piece of play-doh. With the vocals tumbling along in tandem, Fabric becomes a maelstrom of head-bopping psychedelic bass that’s impossible to ignore.

Govinda has been continuously redefining and rebranding itself. After revisiting this project a myriad of times to ensure absolute perfection, Govinda presents Burning Rings of Helios, now out on Gravitas Music. This seven-track album has been Shane’s favorite project to produce thus far, as it traverses different realms of gypsy violin and dives into new inspiration stemming from circus arts. The beats are soft and subtle, yet abrasive and envelope crushing to take Burning Rings of Helios unexpected places while still staying true to Govinda.

Listeners are greeted by a mysterious violin in “CObra STyle” before encountering an upbeat, gypsy dubtronica soundscape that is composed of several twists and turns. The journey proceeds to meet the “Goblin King,” who welcomes visitors with piercing melodic vocals that accompany soothing strings and an abundance of glitch. “Inside Your World” explores the dark and haunting depths of exotic bass, with bewitching vocals that urge listeners to continue the designated path. A sultry violin fluidly glides through the sharp cosmic atmosphere, which causes eyes to wander into “Nebulous Space.” Once consciousness returns, a muted trumpet in “Smokey Memories” attempts to defog hazy recollections in a mellow blues. Soon after, live instrumentation is employed in “Bent Cipher” to distribute a gratifying electronic jazz punch. As the pilgrimage comes to an end, assorted elements featured in preceding tracks are incorporated to tie up the project into a “Twisted” finale.
