Shanti Planti is proud to present its second official release, “Lostwithiel”, by the burgeoning musical force, Akasha Experience.  This otherworldly opus has been immaculately intentioned, for the listener to have an utmost purifying and exalting experience.  Ultimately culminating and aggrandizing the deification of Dub, the extrasensory entities behind these sacral sounds humbly wish for you to join them, in further discovering worlds uncharted, exploring the luminiferous æther and their channeling of ineffable, electronic Esoterica.  This five track EP is brimming with loads of levitational frequencies, misty-eyed musings and an indescribable cadence that epitomizes each vibratory vista; including a reconfiguration by the up-and-coming Parisian duo, Land Switcher.

Welcome one and all, to Cirque du Cosmique!  Look deep within your mind and see manifest a display of glorious grandeur.  Our first destination, on our journey towards Nada Brahma, is at the lucid locale known as, “Soul Circus.”  It is verily evident that this track was meticulously crafted and has the sole purpose of facilitating heightened states of consciousness, with its inward spiraling rhythm and metacognitive melodies.  Multiethnic instrumentation graciously inundates this phonic pageantry, as glitches of gypsy likeness and an aerial aesthetic fill the space between notes.  An initiatory composition of this magnitude is guaranteed to set your feet ablaze and soul aloft!

Opening with a sample of an anecdote about dimethyl dreamtime, by Ethnopharmacologist and legendary shamanic scholar, Dennis McKenna, “Shanti Planti,” is an East-meets-West, culture-bridging mantra.  An uprooting bass and squelches galore beautifully complement the mellifluous structure of this tune.  However, the most propulsive element to this track has to be the romping, tribal percussion and tidbits of tasty tablas, talking loquaciously.  The interface of acoustic and electronic implementation is seamless, and the overall vibe of this track will have listeners enamored with Indra’s Net of Jewels.

The title track, “Lostwithiel,” starts very hazy.  It is easy to imagine the picturesque, verdant Cornish landscapes that inspired these serene soundscapes.  From the first note, one will understand that this song is optimal, for introspection.  As a hang drum gently ensues, exuberant emanations of blissful beats swell.  This song is ripe with repose and refinement, as the auditory architecture shines above all and was built to uplift Spirit and stimulate neurotransmitters.  It is only natural that this magnificent Ethno-Dub gem would share the same name as the EP.

Land Switcher’s remix of “Soul Circus”, is this EP’s penultimate tune.  These lads are gaining quite a reputation, at such a rapid pace, and rightfully so.  They always seem to lace their manifestations with a certain, potent psychotropic proponent.  Whether it’s their sagacious sound design or ever-evolving methods for production, Land Switcher is all about making a lasting impression.  In this remix, they exemplify their various techniques, by echoing motifs of cascading synths and a reverberating blasting of bass.  It is nice that this EP provides an albeit different approach to hearing one’s “Soul Circus.”

The final installment is a reincarnation of Quanta’s tune, “Quazilimbo.”  This rework is a pristine example of that classic, iconic Psychedelic Ambient-Dub sound, being consciously preserved, yet genuinely modified.  It features mesmeric melodies, celestial chants and a groove that germinates throughout the duration.  These are those heartbeats that cannot be contained and are just bursting with brilliance. An overwhelming feeling of surreal significance is deeply implanted and these cryptic codes need no demystifying, they’re omnipresent. This tune is accentuated by exotic overtones and a strong presence of Asiatic woodwinds, which flutter to soaring heights.

Akasha Experience and their Shanti Planti collective are only just beginning to emerge and consolidate.  Their amelioration is imminent and soon will take full form as an incredibly innovative and imaginative vanguard, of likeminded folk and sonic sages.  They all embody a passion for manifesting beautiful music that is unparalleled, as everyone taps into the Universal wellspring, of primordial vibration.

Mindspring Music presents: Slaycub - Visceral Planet [MSM102]

Slaycub's new EP with four tracks that have been in the making for well over a year; a year spent revisiting, reviving, and reinvigorating them with much love and care. These are some of his most emotional works, focusing more on the flow of tension and release rather than on technicality or pure experimentation.
The word “visceral” references deep emotion and intuition, in contrast to logic or reason. Placed next to “planet” in the title of this work, it exemplifies our Earth’s tendency to act intuitively and express its innermost fire. Its creatures are driven by instinct and are fueled by palpable, deep-rooted feeling.

~ The dream state is a part of consciousness in which we can experience emotion, often without limitations imposed by logic. “Dewdrop” is a nod to a song by Cocteau Twins, whose music reverberates through the depths of my own dreams, and whose ethereal influence is felt subtly throughout this body of work. Likewise, we are able to manifest these dreams into waking life and orchestrate our own soundtrack.

~ The title track is a convergence of our planet’s elemental emotions: its nurturing soil, mournful winds, cleansing rain, and eruptions of fire. It lives through these with vehemence, and vulnerability; both polarities are expressed in this track.

~ Our reality is built upon the fundamental fabric of space-time, which itself is not concrete, but flows, warps, and wobbles in a dance with the masses of our Universe. Earth’s mere existence creates a distortion in the geometry of this fabric.

~ Our planet rides along the grooves of the sun’s distortions. Sunlight begets all life on our planet, and is our source of light and warmth. This final track encapsulates the sparkling radiance of our star and the way its heat blankets us, and how it creates an impression on us both physically and emotionally.
