Eisig pfeift der kräftige Ostwind in dieser finsteren Januarnacht über die gefrorene Fläche des Sees. Drüben am Ufer kuscheln sich die Häuschen von Mirow aneinander, einladend und warm schimmert das Licht aus ihren kleinen Fenstern. Doch was ist das? Unter dem Brausen des Wintersturms ist noch ein anderes Geräusch vernehmbar: Ein dumpfes, rhythmisches Pochen... Seine Quelle findet sich in einer Stube der kleinen Ortschaft. Die Situation hier steht in geradezu exotischem Gegensatz zur eisigen Winternacht draußen: Hemdsärmelig zappeln zwei Burschen vor einer Groovebox, einem Laptop und angeschlossenem MIDI Controller und haben sichtlich Freude daran, ihren kleinen Gerätepark in hyperaktivem Rausch zu traktieren. Doch es ist nicht nur ihr leidenschaftlicher Einsatz an den Geräten, der den beiden den Schweiß auf die Stirn treibt. Auch der Groove selbst, den sie immer wieder modulieren und zu immer neuen Höhepunkten aufschichten, strahlt eine energetische Wärme aus. In dieser Nacht des noch jungen Jahres 2003 beschließen Sandro Schäufler und Stefan Witzovsky, ein gemeinsames Liveprojekt zu starten.

Doch es soll noch 5 Jahre dauern, bis die beiden Mecklenburger ihre treibenden, auf den Punkt reduzierten Tech House Produktionen auf eine richtige Tanzfläche abfeuern. Nach einigen viel versprechenden Veröffentlichungen gelingt ihnen mit dem Titel „Everyday“, der 2009 auf dem heimischen Label Acker Records erscheint, der endgültige Durchbruch in die soundtechnische Oberliga. Grund hierfür sind zahllose Sessions im gemeinsamen Studio. Einmal verbarrikadieren sie sich für ganze vier Tage ohne Unterbrechung vor ihren Geräten, stellen während dessen den Titel „Am Utkieck“, der auf 3000° Records erschien, sowie ein sonnendurchflutetes Live Set fertig und tragen trotz vorübergehendem Verlust ihres Zeitgefühls und akutem Sauerstoffmangels keine ernsthaften geistigen Schäden davon. Diese bemerkenswerte Produktivität manifestiert sich derzeit in einer nicht abreißenden Veröffentlichungsreihe, die sich über die Labels Acker, SAT, Finger Tracks, Superfancy und POPNorama erstreckt. Die unverkrampft- heitere Art dieser Produktionen wurde von zahlreichen Auflegern als wertvolle Bereicherung ihrer Sets entdeckt.

Neben der kurzweiligen Eigenständigkeit ihrer Veröffentlichungen erfreut sich auch der ausgetüftelte Liveauftritt der beiden beständig wachsender Beliebtheit. So kommt es während ihres Sets auf der SOS U-Ground auf dem Gelände des Fusion Festivals im Oktober 2009 zu wahrer Masseneuphorie auf der Tanzfläche. Durch derartige Erlebnisse hochgradig motiviert, sind die Herren Schäufler & Zovsky zu Beginn des Jahres 2010 fleißig mit den Arbeiten am Debütalbum beschäftigt.

Whoever witnessed them playing live on stage, will not entertain doubts any more: These two boys really leased the groove! And they did so quite extensive: Within no time, Schäufler & Zovsky have convinced their technoid audience by a series of compelling releases on Acker, SAT, Finger Tracks and others.

An icy wind blows over the frozen surface of the lake in this dark night in January. Over there, at the shore, the houses of the tiny village Mirow are cuddling up to one another, warm lights shine from their small windows invitingly. But what’s that? Beside the roaring winter thunder, another sound becomes audible: Some kind of dull, rhythmic pounding… It originates from one of the cosy little houses of the village. The situation in here contrasts really exotically with the icy winter night outside: Wearing only t-shirts, two dudes are wriggling frantically in front of a groovebox, a laptop and some connected MIDI controllers. They obviously really enjoy working their gear in some kind of hyperactive rush. But it is not only their passionate efforts on the equipment which makes the two of them sweating heavily. Also that groovy sound itself, which is modulated again and again and piled up to peak after peak in this way, radiates very special, energetic warmth. In this night of the still young year 2003 Sandro Schäufler and Stefan Witzovsky decide to start a mutual live project.

But it takes 5 more years before the two guys from the North- East German state of Mecklenburg release their pushing, put-in-a-nutshell Tech House sounds finally to a crowd on a dance floor. After some promising first releases, they eventually succeed in breaking through to the producer avant-garde with their production “Everyday” that is released on Acker Records in 2009. They managed to do so due to countless sessions in their mutual studio. One time, they barricade themselves in front of their gear for full four days without any break, finish the track “Am Utkieck” as well as a sunbathed live set during this period and even remain more or less sane despite an acute lack of oxygen and losing all sense of time. This remarkable productivity of the two of them is represented currently in a constant series of releases on labels like Acker, SAT, Finger Tracks, Superfancy and POPNorama. Their relaxed and cheerful style has been realized as a valuable enrichment for sets by numerous DJs.

Beside the entertaining independency of their releases also their sophisticated live act is highly appreciated: True mass euphony evolved for example when they rocked the crowd during the SOS U-Ground party on the venue of famous Fusion Festival in October 2009. Inspired by great experiences like this, the gents Schäufler & Zovsky are industriously busy with their debut album in the beginning of 2010.

Based in Bristol, LTO first made waves as part of mysterious electronic collective Old Apparatus. As a solo producer, LTO has since attracted attention with three albums.

LTO's ambition to create ever more ambiguous and far-reaching sonic environments, whilst retaining something of the familiar and physical, have led him to take inspiration from imagined landscapes of the folklore of his Welsh ancestry and of the planet Mars. Both images of enchanted forests battling enraged giants from the underworld and unimaginably hostile planetary events guide this work of great magnitude.

In 'Daear', LTO explores an expansive sound pallet of swelling synths and noise, ambiguous string instruments, thunderous percussion, unearthly voices and his signature sound the piano, mostly processed beyond recognition. The result is a mysterious and deeply textured journey that could be set in both the distant past and uncertain future, on this planet or beyond.
