In late August 2013 Intricate Cuts will be presenting the newest addition to their catalog, «Bad Bee» by August Rush. The single will include the original version of the track and a remix by Deep Lark.

«Listen. Can you hear it? The music. I can hear it everywhere. In the wind... in the air... in the light. It's all around us. All you have to do is open yourself up. All you have to do... is listen», — the lead character of «August Rush» film was telling us. At the heart of the plot there is a touching story of musician and how music is uniting people. Probably, this was the reason why Arkhangelsk-based producers Alexander Shelchkov and Alexey Maltsev decided to name their duo “August Rush”. Their creative works are always full of freshness, lightness and easiness, as well as sincere emotions, just the like original movie. It seems like the guys decided to follow those testaments in full, in every aspect. Newest releases by August Rush are seen on various labels on a regular basis, their tracks and remixes catch the attention of A-league club players including Max Graham and Eximinds, some of their works have already climbed up into Beatport’s Top-100 in «Progressive» and «Nu-Disco» categories. Alexander and Alexey run their own «August All The Time Show» on Pure.FM Radio and currently are on a friendly footing with Answer42 – a collaboration track is hopefully soon to be announced and presented to the fans. One year ago the guys made their debut on Intricate Records with two original productions, «Here & Now» and «This Is The August Rush», and in June 2013 their latest track «Galaxy Cats» was featured on the label’s debut compilation, «Intricate Sessions». The next step for the duo from Arkhangelsk is join the Intricate Cuts sublabel musical family with the deep house single «Bad Bee», which has a special remix from the yet unknown mysterious producer Deep Lark alongside the original version.

Ontario native Nigel Good has emerged in recent years as one of the most beloved talents on Silk's roster. The emotive (often euphoric) melodies, electro-tinged grooves, and ethereal textures in his tracks have captivated house, progressive, and trance progressive fans alike, as well as captured the attention of many globally renowned international DJs, from Above & Beyond to Porter Robinson. Thanks to the generous support of the international community, he has reached the top of the charts on Beatport on various occasions in both the Progressive House and Trance genres this past year.

With tremendous enthusiasm, Silk Royal presents "Nothing Out Here", Nigel's debut artist album. Spanning a variety of genres, this 12-track release showcases the full range of Nigel's talents. The cinematic "This Is Us" is a fitting opener; a gorgeous piano solo heralds a lush lead melody, floating atop a meaty progressive house groove. The triplet groove of "Flight" is a fresh rhythmic offering, and the melody and strings in this one are equally moving. Nigel enters darker territory with "The Edge", the first of several orchestral pieces on the album. The subsequent cut, "Nothing Out Here", is vintage Nigel: piercing strings and rapturous chords, as well as a summer-flavored guitar hook, provide enormous uplift to the listener. The second "half" of this composition can be heard in the subsequent track, "Something Out There"; all of the feel-good energy reaches its zenith in this one.

At the album's midway point, we are met by the lead single, "One Minus Space", an ironic nod to his previous hit, "Space Minus One". As per usual, Nigel blends acoustic and symphonic instrumentation with synthesized lead chords; the result is one of his most memorable arrangements to date. His drum and bass experiment "Fourth Wall" and his second album interlude, "Cine", further illustrate the diversity of sounds on the album. Centering on an irresistible vocal hook by rising Swedish artist Johnny Norberg, "There For You Now" is the most likely candidate to remain in your head after the first listen. Arguably the album's climactic track, "Discover" features soaring chords, punctuated by heavenly vocal samples (an artist signature). Rounding out the album, "The Balance Part 2" is a very welcome sequel to one of Nigel's most successful singles with Silk. Finally, "This Is It" pays homage to his previous hit "This Is Us"; this gorgeous, string-themed classical piece also brings Nigel's exhilarating and deeply poignant album to its conclusion.

The ranks of Intricate Cuts have swollen. The new recruit is a young Irishman Sam Graham, a resident at Manchester-based nightclub Drop the Mustard. As a member of Drop the Mustard team Sam travelled all over the major countries of Europe and played at numerous festivals including Hideout in Croatia and Parklife in the United Kingdom. Sam’s discography already contains some remarkable releases on labels like  Love Not Money and Cue, in May 2014 a significant addition to it in form of the new single «Continental Twist» will be made – a light and fanciful romance between a guitar and a synthesizer at the wash of the waves. In addition to the original version comes a more «male», clockwork Rainmaker Dub as produced by Da Funk  — the founder of Acryl Music label, the veteran of the Swiss electronic music scene from the city of Winterthur.

Luca Rossi - Return of the Sun EP // Suffused Music [SMD045]

Lucas Rossi hailing from Córdoba, Argentina is an aspiring member of the new breed of progressive generation, following the south american vibe, built on floating textures. Lucas released tracks already on numerous labels like Balkan Connection South America, Mystic Carousel and Green Snake Records. As about Suffused Music he appeared on the legendary 'Initalizing 2014' compilation with his track called 'Return Of The Sun', alongside many respected artists. The track deserved a full EP, so we get our hands on this progressive beauty once again, with 4 different loads presented by Luca himself, Nico Ferrero, Lateral Cut Groove and last but not least Yuriy From Russia. 
The original mix is a traditional argentinian momentum, built on progressive foundation, operating with huge portions of melodic ingredients. Also we have the Sunset mix, where the baseline give a stronger clubby feel to the whole production.
We should notice that Yuriy From Russia is almost works on every release that really counts in the progressive scene. He brought his deep approach, with progressive spice behind the crafty grooves.
Lateral Cut Groove put the original elements in a hypnotic atmosphere, sending out the remix with a massive, pulsating output.
Nico Ferrero worked carefully to keep the main theme in his stripped back milieu, which has a long progression while we get on the peak with the surrounding spacey and mystic arpeggios.

Silk Royal is thrilled to present Silk Remixed 04, the fourth installment of the annual series, featuring various veteran talents and rising stars in progressive. Kicking off the compilation is Nigel Good's jubilant remix of "Sumr" by Dezza & Shoreliners. Fresh off his debut artist album, which reached #1 overall on Beatport, Nigel treats us to a sparkling, complextro-influenced progressive gem, rife with feel-good vibes. Vintage & Morelli, one of the standout artists from Silk's Arrival division, offers a fresh, peak-hour take on "Night Time" by Sound Quelle. A bouncy house rhythm sits below a stormy and evocative lead, punctuated by a haunting vocal sample. The main break is a goosebumps-inducing aural experience, as the vocal motif and piano poignantly coalesce. Aeron Aether's "Synthanelia" still finds a home in our radio and live sets; Jayeson Andel, a breakthrough artist on our imprint, offers a full-on trance stormer with his new rendering, which has received early radio support from Arty. The memorable string themes of the original soar above an adrenalin-fueled, stadium-rocking groove. French talent Matt Fax, another leader of Arrival, offers a new interpretation of one of Silk Royal's early releases, Pconvolve's "Cosmology". As the title implies, celestially-inspired synths transport the listener to the far reaches of the galaxy; a progressive breaks interlude and explosive drop in the latter half of the track are true release highlights. David Broaders closes out the first half of the release with an awe-inspiring interpretation of "Starman" by Gregory Esayan. A thunderous groove resolves into a beautiful piano and string-themed breakdown; these poignant melodies are some of the most enduring from the compilation this year.

New label recruit Illuminor, a rising duo from Australia, add a bit more punch to eleven.five's classic "Pinnacle". A highly innovative groove, as well as new variations on the main piano motif from the original, stand out in this fantastic new version. Trusty label veteran Sundriver offers a driving take on Denis Laurent feat. Kaisa Martina's "All I Need". A vintage lead chord progression, with numerous euphoric synth layers and arpeggios, paves the way for Kaisa's romantic vocal in the breakdown. British sensation Ben Coda, who has contributed in the past to the Silk Remixed series, returns with a peak-hour rendering of Zack Roth's beloved "Tekkadon". A clubby groove crescendoes into the breakdown, where the newly added, trance-influenced lead shines, alongside the memorable original theme. Russian duo Soarsweep, fresh off an EP on parent label Silk Digital, offers another visionary remix; this time, they have accentuated the emotive themes of "Both", originally a collaboration between Blood Groove & Kikis and LTN. Closing out the EP, Harold-Alexis, one of the stars of our chillout division (Silk Sofa), offers a drum & bass rework of Seagrave's "Storm". With bleeding-edge sound design throughout, this emotive track will be appreciated by fans in search of visionary, outside-of-the-box EDM.

One of the most promising talents to emerge in the modern progressive house scene is Nigel Good, whose work is always equal parts melodic beauty, soul, and technical precision. Prior to this EP, we have had the great privilege of releasing numerous remixes by Nigel -- from his Above & Beyond-supported remix of Johan Vilborg's "Altara" to the more recent Myon & Shane 54-featured remix of Aerosoul's "Time Is By Your Side". Yet, this latest release is truly unprecedented for Nigel in terms of quantity and quality: 3 brand new, original progressive cuts, in which he not only showcases his songwriting ability, but also his latest bleeding-edge sound design techniques. In consideration of the fact that Nigel has just become a permanent co-host of "Only Silk" radio, which has officially represented the music of Silk Digital since the label's inception, we could think of no better way to acknowledge this pivotal moment in the label's history than a truly inspired trifecta of tracks by the Canadian phenom.

"This Is You" is the first of two tracks on the release that feature the vocals of Sarah Clark. A cinematic introduction includes various piano riffs and filtered string sounds; make no mistake, this is an artist at the top of his game making a deliberately ambitious (and moving) opening statement to his EP. At the quarter turn, the main rhythm finally arrives -- refreshingly, it's a "triplet" beat, which lends the track a gallop-like cadence. Meanwhile, as the strings continue to ebb in and out, we are offered glimmers of Clark's gorgeous vocal, as disconnected words and phrases are ethereally rendered. In the main break, Nigel's poignant piano and euphoric, crescendoing chords join forces with Clark's vocal, to truly awe-inspiring effect.

The subsequent track, "Always Running", holds a special place in our hearts, as it's quite similar in arrangement to the great melodic progressive house anthems of yesteryear. More specifically, it features an almost achingly beautiful lead chord progression, reminiscent of the melancholy, yet uplifting melodic style of original label music Mango. The unique feature of Nigel's work is that he pays homage to these influences, while lending his tracks a modern dancefloor sensibility. In this song, the delicate chords are introduced early in a mini-break, followed by a few rapturous "teaser" vox by Clark. From this moment, the free-flowing strings and hyper-melodic lead chords guide the track along, evoking a "floating-on-air" sensation in the listener. As the track proceeds toward the main break, innovative rhythmic fills and reverses keep the beat fresh. We finally arrive at the main break, where Clark's angelic voice dominants the foreground, while the chords crescendo behind her. While the first half of the tune can fairly be described as a great "listening" or even "driving" tune, the drop that follows at this juncture is purely dancefloor-centered: intended, it would seem, not for an arena, but rather an intimate setting of close friends.

Finally, the EP closes with "The Balance", by far the most energetic and melodically "resonant" of the three cuts. It explosively jets out of the gate, with a gut-busting kick and snare pattern, as the chord progression begins to slowly trickle into the mix. Meanwhile, in the background, various side-chained pads tickle the ear and provide Nigel's quintessentially euphoric string texture. Soon thereafter, Nigel begins to splice in distorted, robotic vox effects, which tremolo in the stereo spectrum and enhance the groove, rather than interrupting it. In the main break, the filter automation on the lead chords gives the track a crescendoing, tidal power, as it propels once again into the drop.

Released at the beginning of 2013, Dan & Sam feat. Maxx Hennard's vocal progressive anthem "Walls" proved to be a fan favorite, as well as well-supported single on international radio. We are thrilled to present a pair of brand new remixes by two of our imprint's most distinguished artists: Shawn Mitiska and Nigel Good.

Canadian talent Nigel Good has experienced a sensational year thus far. Specifically, he has not only received radio support by Above & Beyond, Myon & Shane 54, and countless other leading international artists, but his latest EP (released on Silk Digital, our parent label) reached #2 on the Beatport Progressive House Release Chart. Nigel's ebullient interpretation of "Walls" captures the optimism and life-affirming beauty of spring. Various melodic motifs enhance the house-y groove, including pop-influenced string plucks and an uplifting, "beachside" guitar riff (contributed to the mix as a welcome "afterthought" by Dan Sieg). Maxx Hennard's soulful vocal in this version is also as infectious as the original take, and the lyrics remain equally poignant.

Internationally renowned producer and DJ Shawn Mitiska, who provided the only remix of "Walls" in the original single release, returns with a stunning "Dub" version. No stranger to international radio support for nearly a decade now, Shawn has once again received a great reception for his work, as this rendering has already been championed by the likes of Kyau & Albert, Max Graham, Aruna, Mike Shiver, PROFF and more. Faced with the enormous task of offering an equally inspired vocal-less version of "Walls", Shawn truly rose to the occasion. He offers numerous mesmerizing melodic layers and vocal FX through the tune, which should tickle the ears of even the most discriminating listeners. The climax of the song is a great highlight, as Shawn's rapturous chords greatly encourage us to knock down the "walls" we build in life.

The mountains of Switzerland aren't the only things peaking there. Touching the heights of the EDM scene, producer Christian Hirt, one half of the Chris Reece duo, has clocked up more than 70 weeks in the Swiss single chart, producing for others. Three years ago he felt it was time to change his course and head for success with a new project, Chris Reece. Together with vocalist Luciana Di Nardo, he created the prog-trancy 'Still Breathin', a warm and soothing vocal track out on the Pilot 6 imprint. Time for us to take a deep dive into the sounds of this Swiss producer, and see what he's got set for his Chris Reece project in 2010...

His debut album, which was released in 2010, on Armada Records "The Devine Circle" got massive reactions worldwide.

Chris is also label Owner of Unreleased Digital and Enormous Tunes. On which he has signed acts like Dinka, Daniel Portman or Leventina just to name out a few.

In July 2012 Chris returns with a huge one track single on his own label imprint Unreleased Digital. The track is called "Away From You". A summerish bigroom anthem that definately shows an evolving path in Chris' musical career.
