Another songs during the time between when my wife was deported and when I was with her again in another country. A year is a long time, and so I would write music, just play piano, guitar and try to get my feelings out.

After about 9 months, I just got to the Netherlands from the US, and one night I actually I thought I heard her say my name from the other room, and even though I knew that was impossible, I still went to check, cause you know desperation, and cried of course when I was the only one there. Though it was 4 months after this song that we did finally be together again. That is when i wrote Lost you.

This song actually takes place after "Empty" and before "Lost you".

Deportation 2 - One More Day

This is a song about work. After a 16 hour day, I went home and it was like 3am and I was frustrated with my job, behind on my pay check, and just struggling and sat and down, hit record on my phone and actually played a version of this song, lyrics and all in a first pass through. Obviously this version is a 1000x better than me on a piano lol

A song about a girl I dated for a while, who would get mad and say I never opened up, even though every time I tried to, she would just let cut me off and start talking about herself. The song pretty much says it all lol I used to have issues talking about "real" things, feelings, emotions, etc. I could only ever write poems, lyrics, play piano, etc. But I could never actually just talk about things.

As mention in some of the other descriptions of songs, I always struggled with my own self identity, and who I am inside. Swings from arrogance to depression, and in some of my relationships this was confusing for some girls, rightfully so of course. Well this was during a phase I was going through and since I couldn't say what I needed to say, I put it into a song for her.

Fall

This song was written for a girl I never even met. We had an on-line only relationship for about a year, and we both knew it would only ever really be that, and we would joke about going to an island and living off just mangoes. Things happened, and cordially we stopped talking due to life things. During my original song I basically rift on a guitar for a while, so I wanted to do it justice on this recording.

Meant to be

A break up song, the end of a relationship of a couple years. Hard to let go, when you know it isn't working, but you still have love. We made each other miserable, but yet there was love and we grew together, and simply love was not enough. This was basically my goodbye song.

Inside of me

When I was 18 I wrote this song, about the first time I met my first serious girlfriend. Was the day before the first classes in college, and there was like a campus party thing and I don't like large crowds, and found a piano in an empty auditorium room in one of the main buildings. I was playing it, and this girl had used the bathroom and sort of got lost on the way out and came past the room I was in, and heard me playing and when I finished my song, I suddenly heard her clapping and cheering, then she asked if she could play something and so she did cause she also was a musician.

That was the first time we met. After almost 3 years the relationship ended, but at the time, well you know how young love can feel.

Smile of an Angel

This was after a breakup with a girl that I blamed her at first, but realized later on, that I was also a huge part of the problem. I was young and emotionally unable to give her what she needed from me, and I was also struggling myself with things, and she had reached out randomly, which got me diving into memories.

Running

A song for my mother. Raised in poverty we would raid trash cans on Sundays hoping drunk people the night before will have missed winning lottery tickets. Then would look back over all the tickets we found, finding unscratched tickets and sometimes missed winning ones.

Welfare Lottery

This song is the feeling of having someone you love ripped from you unexpectedly.

Due to immigration issues and how terrible ICE is, my wife was locked up in prison for several months waiting to be deported, and I would call her almost daily. During this time I worked a stressful job and had to figure out a plan to move to Europe, from the US. 

It killed me to see her in that prison, to hear how she was being treated, and that there was nothing I could do. That helpless feeling. Me being an emotionally co-dependent type of person didn't help either.

I tried to stay positive when I spoke with her, I would tell her about the plans I was making, how it would all be ok, how I would figure it all out, and that I wasn't giving up on her, and how I would do anything I had to to be with her again on the other side of the world.

Over and over again reinforce what will be, even though during this time, it was hard for both of us. Every time I would hang up I would cry.

This song takes place before "One more Day" and "Lost You".
