Summer 2022

This track was inspired by Guy Debord’s Dérive theory in which one passes through ambient urban spaces. Musically, the production consists of vocal samples trained on the Holly+ model combined with CSV’s signature atmospherics and a UK drill beat.

Flayed is the new track by audiovisual artist CSV, which contextually builds upon other genres from the UK underground such as 90s ambient jungle, 2-step garage and dubstep. CSV sonically achieves this by meshing together future garage rhythms with mutated vocals, retro melancholic pads and a deep reese bass. It evokes a nostalgic feeling of driving down a neon highway where eldritch horrors await you at the other side.

PREMIERE ‣ Tusl - Junt [Ocean Drive Radio]

UK producer CSV returns to drop another cybernetic banger aptly named "Concrete Jungle." Existing simultaneously as ambient-techno and sci-fi soundtrack, the organic drums in this tune will hit you like the titular concrete. "Concrete Jungle" immediately starts with granular foley and dark soundscapes, before grotesquely mutated drum-breaks begin unfurling like a rattlesnake. Searing acid synths and blasts of distorted bass whip up a feeling of post-human dread.

After a visit to Montreal, I was inspired by the famous Habitat 67 apartment complex. The contrast between its brutalist architecture and nature inspired the themes of this song. Recorded live at the Ableton Loop Sessions during @mutek_montreal festival. 🌱
