According to Paul Strive's 2013 release… 'People Want Techno'. Indeed they do, as was proved by the response to his strong SCI+TEC debut. The talented, dynamic and energetic young DJ/Producer is known to be equally at home turning out tough and chunky mainroom house as he is delving into the darker realms of techno and having taken huge inspiration from label boss Dubfire, the Hungarian realised a personal dream with his first release on the label. Today he returns with his latest work the Rules EP. 

His latest double-header sees Strive delving deeper into the minimal, stripped techno sound. Revenge plays heavily on its spooky groove and twisted echo vocal stabs while Rules, on the flip, maintains the ominous atmosphere adding muscle with its fierce creeping synth lines.

Nelly Jay's ear for music developed at an early age. This natural drive along with the ability to turn people on to unfamiliar sounds with his unique taste and style made him destined to do something notable with music in time to come. With early influences derived from hip-hop, exposure to the rave and club scene and a keen interest in Chicago house Nelly's passion for house music was set in motion. Staying true to his roots Nelly often brings elements of hip-hop into his bass heavy sets while turning out cutting edge percussive tech-house beats. Nelly Jay has been involved with Pure Gonzo from the start as a "musical advisor" when he played a role in keeping the rest of the crew up to date with the latest and most hard to find gems. Recently Nelly has helped to open the doors of the new Pure Gonzo studio where he plays an intricate part as the studio director. This studio also doubles as a community project youth program where teenagers are given the opportunity to learn all aspects of making music. Nelly has already rocked the floors of some of NYC's hottest nightclubs. Keep an ear out for the sounds of Nelly Jay as he is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

We dare you to find a New Yorker who isn’t familiar with Chriss Vargas. With a residency at the legendary Pacha New York, Cielo in The Meatpacking District, and an array of Beatport charting tracks, Vargas is the embodiment of the underground New York sound.

Colombian by ancestry and birth, Vargas began DJ’ing and producing over a (bakers) dozen years ago after moving to the United States. With a strong musical background - Vargas is a self-taught drummer and pianist - and a love for technology and programming (Logic, Abelton, plug-ins), he morphed from an educated fan to the puppeteer behind the scenes, creating and playing his own music. 2014 saw the birth of Drop Dead Records (DDR), a place for the producer to expand on his own creations.

The year was 2000. Sound Factory was THE home of dance music in New York City, and Chriss Vargas was asked to open the room for Junior Sanchez. Thus began the whirlwind, parlaying into a long standing residency at Pacha New York, gigs at Electric Daisy Carnival, Governors Island Music Festival, Black and White Music Festival, and a larger than life birthday celebration: Voodoo, which gets bigger and bigger each year.

Vargas regularly brings the sound of the underground to your laptop: with singles on stronghold labels including Nervous Records, KULT, Stereo and Dark Vibe, and original tracks like "Rib Breaker" and "Perceptions" on Beatport. His latest studio efforts include a 10-song album for Nervous Records, coming to digital retailers in Fall 2014, and multiple EPs for Waveform Recordings.
2014 saw the launch of Chriss Vargas’ Drop Dead Records (DDR), which Vargas describes as a label for artists from all over the world. DDR serves as a launching pad for Vargas to expand on his own musical creations.

DJ, producer, party starter. Music industry executive, talent discoverer, and music distributor.  Is there anything Vargas can’t do? His story began thirteen years ago and shows no signs of slowing.
