Counted Me Out(Yung Ace)

I have had many requests from Family, Friends, and Fans to do a Christmas Album. I had pencilled this in for 2021 but ran out of time...so I was able to manage doing 7 songs in 2021 and the other 13 in 2022. So, I hope it complements your festive season celebrations with Christmas songs from 1945 to 2009 across genres and generations.

Merry Xmas Everyone is a song by Welsh singer-songwriter ‘Shakin’ Stevens and released in November 1984. ‘Feliz Navidad’ (Merry Christmas) is a Christmas song written in 1970 by Puerto Rican singer-songwriter José Feliciano. ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ is a song recorded by American singer Mariah Carey for her fourth studio album and first holiday album, ‘Merry Christmas’ (1994). 

I have recorded several Christmas Songs from the 1981 Album ‘Christmas with Boney M.’ They are ‘Jingle Bells’, ‘Little Drummer Boy’ and ‘When A Child Is Born’.

‘Driving Home for Christmas’ is a Christmas song written and composed by British singer-songwriter Chris Rea. The first version was originally released as the B-side to his single "Hello Friend" in 1986.

‘Happy Xmas (War Is Over)’ is a Christmas song released in 1971 as a single by John & Yoko/Plastic Ono Band with the Harlem Community Choir. 

‘Auld Lang Syne’ is a popular song and, it is traditionally sung to bid farewell to the old year at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve.

‘Frosty the Snowman’ is a popular Christmas song written by Walter "Jack" Rollins and Steve Nelson, and first recorded by Gene Autry and the Cass County Boys in 1950. 

‘The Christmas Song’ (commonly subtitled "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire" or, as it was originally subtitled, ‘Merry Christmas to You’) is a classic Christmas song written in 1945 by Robert Wells and Mel Tormé.

‘Santa Claus Is Back in Town’ is a Christmas song written in 1957 by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, and first recorded that year by Elvis Presley as the opening track on Elvis' Christmas Album.

‘Do They Know It's Christmas’ is a charity song written in 1984 by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise money for the 1983–1985 famine in Ethiopia. It was first recorded by Band Aid, a supergroup assembled by Geldof and Ure consisting of popular British and Irish musical acts at the time.

‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)’ is a rock song originally sung by Darlene Love and included on the 1963 seasonal compilation album, ‘A Christmas Gift for You’ from Phil Spector. The song was written by Ellie Greenwich, Jeff Barry, and Phil Spector.

‘Mistletoe and Wine’ is a Christmas song made famous as a chart-topping single by Cliff Richard in 1988. The song was written by Jeremy Paul, Leslie Stewart and Keith Strachan for a musical called Scraps, which was an adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Match Girl" set in Victorian London. ‘The Song of Christmas’ is performed by Gilbert O'Sullivan and was released in 1974. 

‘Santa Never Made it to Darwin’ is a charity single, recorded by Bill and Boyd. It was written by the band's William Cate. Funds raised supported the Australian city of Darwin, Northern Territory, following the damage wrought by Cyclone Tracy on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 1974. 

‘Blue Christmas’ is a Christmas song written by Billy Hayes and Jay W. Johnson and most famously performed by Elvis Presley. It was first recorded by Doye O'Dell in 1948. ‘The Bells of Christmas’ is a song by Chris de Burgh and was released in Dec 2009.

‘Happy New Year’ is a song by Swedish group ABBA from their 1980 album Super Trouper and released as a single in December of that year.
