Coming up as a curious vinyl nerd in her hometown of San Diego,
Sonrisita pursued DJing as a means to create space for underground
sounds and communities. On her former radio residences on Dublab and
WorldWideFM, Sonrisita took deep dives into global music culture
through her sonic curation and guest interviews. Currently based in
Los Angeles, Sonrisita utilizes her foundation as a record digger to
build eclectic sets that weave together both the new and nostalgic.
Her innate passion and curiosity for music in all of its rich
diversity is at the heart of everything she does.

Phantasy’s long-running mix series returns from hiatus with a transmission from one of the UK’s most exciting DJs, Tia Cousins. Already prolific in soundtracking the most vital spaces of European nightlife and club culture, back-to-back sessions with the encyclopedic likes of Optimo and Ruf Dug have demonstrated Cousins’ own nous and knowledge, but her Phantasy mix and other appearances prove that she needs no co-sign. Drawing from the truly offbeat corners of dance music, Cousins’ refined, resurgent chug explodes into shades of Italo, EBM and electro pyschedelia from the likes of DJ Subaru, Pachanga Boys and Mono Junk.

Such is the case with Good Block, this mischievous London unit whose portfolio of musical shenanigans increases in quantity as much as it grows in quality, amounting to a solid body of work of which this episode of Gop Cast is another stellar chapter. One that, in their own words is "a bit deeper for us (ambient/ slo-mo/chug) but we really enjoyed doing this one.
