Over me places us on the beach dancing in the summer sun, on the sand with bare feet with the Balearic rhythms where the guitars and the marimba are the guides. There is happiness, movement and a lot of good humor, released from the warm and engaging atmosphere of the rhythm dictated by organic percussion. This track makes us feel as it is summer wherever we are.
Chemical is a sensual mixture of electronic sounds and has a continuous melodic evolution that embraces the angelic, lonely and melancholy voice of the vocalist. The track creates an imaginary atmosphere of a bygone era. It makes us imagine a large ballroom full of warm and colored lights that caresses our singer who, with her lightness and elegance, calls us to get up, forget everything, and free our bodies in sensual movements.

Tale Of Us present a new collaboration with Vaal for the sixth release on their Afterlife label. Three years after they teamed up for ‘Concur’ and began to tour together, the trio return with their most anthemic offering yet. Vaal’s hauntingly-beautiful and instantly-recognisable vocals are the centre-piece on ‘Monument’, building on the style of her Wander To Hell EP (AL002). The drums and shimmering synth lines are moody and uplifting in the way Tale Of Us have made their own, arranged perfectly for the psychedelic breakthrough.

On the flip side, ‘The Hangar’ takes a different approach to equally devastating effect. It pumps with added urgency and a thunderous, steely bassline lunges out from the low-end. Designed for large soundsystems and big rooms, ‘The Hangar’ finds Tale Of Us and Vaal at their most direct and it’s something to behold.

Barnt and Stephan Bodzin, two artists whose stand-out performances at recent Afterlife events have made them firm favourites with the crowds, are tapped for the remixes (AL007). They both take on ‘Monument’, Barnt opting for a rolling, percussive direction and Bodzin more ethereal and transportive.

Kiasmos mark their return in 2017 with a new 12” EP titled Blurred — available worldwide on October 6th via Erased Tapes.

Since their 2015 Swept EP, the duo have been performing shows extensively across the world. After writing and recording together in their native Iceland this year, the pair will be bringing a glimpse of light to a particularly gloomy time of year as their light sounds are brighter than ever.
