Its been way overdue, but finally I can present to you, the 2nd 'Classics' mix. - Once again a trip down memory lane, to the very first years of Iboga Records, between 1999 and 2002.

New fans and followers of Iboga will of course recognize the names BEAT BIZARRE , BITMONX & FABIO , PHONY ORPHANTS and REEFER DECREE who are still going strong, and don't need any further introduction. 
- Beat Bizarre and Reefer Decree even got brand new EPs out on Iboga and Ibogatech, released just recently.

-In this mix I've also included some abandoned projects like..

AUDIOPILE - Martin 'Beat Bizarre Zimmermann & Jacob 'Lurifax' Olsen.

SPY VS SPY - Emok and Llopis. A name used for a few tracks only.

ZEROTONINE - A german project, active a few years around the millennium.

FABEL - A collective of Iboga artists in various constellations, which included Michael Banel, Phony Jeppe, Reefer Oliver, and this time a track produced by Alhad & Emok and then remixed by Llopis. A track i only just recently discovered on the masterdisc for 'iboga EP 19' by Llopis, from back in 2002. 
-Somehow this track never made it to the vinyl, and has remained unreleased ever since.


This 80 minutes journey starts deep, and dark. From minimal to twisted prog-trance. - Classic iboga style, that really made them stand out back then.
Ending in best fashion with some full on Reefer madness, that includes some rare 'vinyl only' bangers, and even an unreleased little pearl. (full tracklist below)


There's a little joker in this mix as well. Can you guess what it is?

This week we again return to one of our founders, Joonmack.
Joon has come a long way since the beginning of Proxima, diving deep into his productions and rounding off skills in as many creative avenues as possible.
With recent releases on frisson records, digital diamonds and some very cool, yet to be announced releases coming later this year... Jack is soon sure to be considered one of the many cornerstones of Melbourne's underground.

This set is re-recorded from Bangboza 2022 - Proxima's Annual gathering amongst the trees.

The other day, I browsed some dj-usb's I haven't used for a while, and on one of them I found a psytrance folder, with some highlighted tracks in it.
I quickly realized that those highlighted tracks, were the ones I played in my last session at THE TUBE aka TUBEN, just before they closed down for good.

TUBEN were a legendary trance club in Copenhagen. Parties almost every Friday from 1997 to 2018, so for many people in Denmark and southern Sweden, TUBEN were the place where it all started.

It has been one of my favourite and most visited clubs since the late 90s, and I also had many awesome gigs down there, sharing the stage with headliners such as Koxbox, S.U.N. Project, Outsiders etc

Tuben Tribute Mix [Psychedelic Trance]

Back in the day it all started with goa trance, so every once in a while when i stumble over a new version of one of the old classics, it naturally gets my attention.

Often I find the old originals and the new remixes/coverversions world's apart, so i don't think it's fair to compare them one on one. - But if the story is good, why not tell it again?

PsyRitual is DJane CANDELITTA's psychedelic alter ego.
In 2012, Alexandra discovered psychedelic trance music when she stumbled upon a set of Interactive Noise on the Internet. Then she became acquainted with the music of Captain Hook and the love was already a fact.

After listening only at home for years, she went to Ozora's main stage. There were born the desires and aspirations to merge and express herself through psychedelic music. In 2018, her idea matured, and the Universe arranged everything to make the wish come true. Omnisonic contacted her with an offer to become part of their label. That's how she met Slimec and the exciting adventure began.

SLIMEC [Reactrance - Psypower] BG
Slimec (pronounced Slimets) is a psytrance DJ project by Angel Kolev from Bulgaria (Plovdiv). He has the passion to select and play fine psychedelic music which makes the crowd go crazy and feel as one on the dance floor. His trippy energetic mix breaks the conscious and physical limits touching all the fans' perceptions.

In the last few years, Slimec has become an integral part of every psytrance event in his home country. These multi layered landscapes continue to evolve and unfold while maintaining a balance between fundamentals and experimentation. Lupin's unique take on the genre is expressed through varied techniques, analog synthesizers and innovative usage of the Virus TI2. Meticulously produced with artful flair, as well as an unusual, personal selection of effects and sounds there is enough whimsy in Ritmo Galactico to give this album and some of the tracks a degree of longevity that is unusual for the times, but a perfect match for the BMSS stand point on music.

In both the upper and lower sound spectra strong elements appear and disappear, creating stories of their own that don't drift too wide, but certainly keep us wondering, what's next? This is music made for large sound systems and floors. By the time the 5th track rolls around, the listener is well on their way into a fat futuristic landscape that does not take itself too seriously but maintains a deep uplifting joyful sound unique to Lupin. Track by track Lupin takes you one step deeper, highlighting different aspects of the intense studio time, and personal expression that was dedicated to this album. You won't walk away from this with a feeling that you just revisited the best that progressive Psytrance had to offer, but you might get a sense that perhaps the best is yet to come.
