Anders Trentemøller has become one of the most respected names in cutting edge electronic music in the last few years. His rise to notoriety was sparked by his early, techy releases for Poker Flat and Audiomatique and has since gone on to stellar highs with his own personal take on the  genre, spanning, pop, rock, indie and classical. His debut album 'The Last Resort‘ was released in 2006 to much international acclaim, and the producer also began to become an in-demand remixer in the house and techno world. 

As the decade wore on his sound continued to progress, opening up his studio to more live instrumentation, and a looser, rock-meets electronic vibe with his stunning 'Into The Great Wide Yonder‘ LP. From legendary live shows with the 'Live In Concert‘ tour with a full backing band, to remixes for a whole host of talents outside of the electronic world, to producing new bands like Darkness Falls on the label hfn music, the restless creative is always a powerhouse of productivity.

Now this special double CD and double vinyl release celebrates some of the producer’s favourite remixes he completed for other artists, and also some of his personal picks where other musicians have reworked his music. With over 20 super-slick productions to choose from, this is a real treat for any Trentemøller fan, or indeed a great introduction into his sound. From crisp electronic beats, to atmospheric and filmic moments, to heavy post-rock mutations and beyond. This sheer variety in store here is testament to the talent and musical vision of Anders Trentemøller.

All the reworked tracks are taken from last year’s 'Into The Great Wide Yonder‘ album, which fused melancholic, emotional melodies with a more indie/electro-rock studio focus.

This double CD packs so many quality songs and productions it’s hard to list them all, yet highlights on CD 1 include the introductory swathes of Marie Fisker‘s wonderfully contemplative version of 'Sycamore Feeling‘, taking us into lazy, hazy hypnotic waves of neo-folk. Fisker sang vocals on the beautiful album-track, and here we take an insight into her own very talented world. ‘Tide’ flows in as three different versions: Efterklang‘s beautiful new remix, a Trentemøller version, and the inimitable Berlin-based bad-boys Modeselektor remixed 'Tide‘ in their 'Last Remix Ever‘... and it’s a dirty ride with plenty of lo-fi synths fusing with high end production in a rolling melancholic electronic story. Of course we‘d be fools not to forget remixes of Trentemøller songs by none other than Andrew Weatherall, or the main man‘s remixes of artists like UNKLE, The Dø, Franz Ferdinand or Modeselektor featuring Thom Yorke - all must-have modern works, also including Kasper Bjørke‘s tender ‚Does Not Matter‘ which is re-shaped by Trentemøller in glorious cinematic coloured sound. 

Gliding into CD 2 we find even more electronic versions, kicking off with Trentemøller‘s foreboding new mix of his own ‚Neverglade‘, before we hear his interpretations of Efterklang‘s ‚Raincoats‘ or the heroric version of 
Depeche Mode‘s 'Wrong‘. I Blame Coco provide their brilliantly different interpretation of '...Even Though You‘re With Another Girl‘, featuring the new recorded vocals of Coco Sumner, transforming the original with her own low-slung mutation of pop and electronic styles. 'Even Though...’ is also contributed by Hamburg upstarts Kollektiv Turmstrasse providing their stomping mix, in a stylish mixture of pop-meets-deepest-electronica.

Furthermore, we discover brilliant reworks of bands like Mew, Giana Factory or Chimes And Bells. Trentemøller‘s raw and industrial remix of Giana Factory‘s ‚Dirty Snow‘ features the wonderful guitar skills of Lisbet Fritze, who currently tours with Trentemøller on his live show.

UNKLE, maverick UK producer James Lavelle‘s ambitious on-going pro-ject, reaches out into filmic, spacey zones with their remix of Trentemøller‘s classic 'Neverglade‘. Among UNKLE’s version and the bristling, tense electronic remix by Trentemøller himself, this track also appears as an instrumental version that lets the wonderful instrumentation shine.

Trentemøller 'Reworked/Remixed' is a beautiful journey into the musical world of one of the best producers and musicians today, enriched with reinterpretations by some of the most interesting artists. Alternative? Electronic? Rock? Pop? Although it's become a consistent album, genre-barriers completely fade away. But who cares... Enjoy!

San Franciscan trio PillowTalk dish out this weeks mix; a sublime hour long work out which perfectly showcases their wonderfully unique sound. Sammy D, Ryan Williams and Michael Tello's fusion of classic underground house along with modern RnB and boogie flexes all began by jamming around a baby grand piano in a kitchen about a year ago, and now can be heard on labels such as Wolf + Lamb, Life and Death, and Visionquest. Their alluring and charming pop-dance songs are inspired by anyone from the Beach Boys to Larry Heard, and we just can't get enough of them. This podcast is class from start to finish; an absolutely essential listen.

Fool, the “tongue in cheek” self-ironic entitled third album, is another tour de force in Kasper Bjørke’s signature production style – this time wrapped up as a concept album to be released on Fool’s day April 1, 2012.

The versatile Copenhagen producer and DJ follows up on his successful sophomore solo album from 2010 “Standing on top of Utopia” that reached high acclaim from the international press and indie blogosphere:

Like a vinyl record, the track list has been split into two sides: The pop infused vocal-based bittersweet love songs of the “Hungry side” is halfway through taken over by an Overture that leads into the darker and mainly instrumental “Foolish side”, containing spaced out psychedelic trips and no-wave disco voyages.

Both moods however, fluently melt together as one coherent piece - playful, yet clever - and definitely Kasper’s most ambitious album to date.

Bjørke continues his close collaboration with Jacob Bellens (frontman in successful Danish indiebands Murder and I Got You On Tape) who is featured on 4 songs on the album (five on the digital version), including the first single „Lose Yourself to Jenny“ which is bound to roam the airwaves with its super catchy melody line. Jacob is accompanied by new Danish talent Emma Acs on the second single, the duet „Deep is the breath“. 

Kasper also collaborates with one of his all time favorite bands; Laid Back (“Baker Man”, “White Horse” etc.), on the acid bass driven “Bohemian Soul”, which was brought into the world during a jam session in Laid Back’s studio on a blurry and rainy summer day in Copenhagen.

As always the album artwork is very important to Kasper and so he asked Trevor Jackson (producer, DJ and visual artist based in London) to make the visual concept for Fool. Trevor has previously created award winning artwork campaigns for Soulwax, The Rapture, Mattias Aguayo, Chromeo and many more.

About Kasper Bjorke:
Kasper has released albums like pearls on a string for the past 12 years. Five albums under the Filur moniker (with Tomas Barfod from WhoMadeWho) for which he has won numerous awards; plus two solo albums and a long line of singles. „Standing on top of Utopia“ was nomintated as best electronic release in the biggest Danish music magazine Gaffa in 2010. In 2011 Kasper released the EP “Symptoms” that consisted solely of instrumental disco tracks, on limited edition yellow vinyl and digital only. Kasper also squeezed in a 12“ on Tensnakes label Mirau together with Tomas Barfod as Bjørke & Barfod (Superbacon Ep) and another 12“ on Compost Black Label under his own solo alias „Kasper Bjorke & His Friendly Ghost“. 

On the Remix side, Kasper continues to be in high demand; from pop acts like Moby and Oh Land, to Icelandic sensation Retro Stefson - and hfn & In My Room label mates Trentemøller and Darkness Falls.

As a DJ Kasper continues to play at some of the most acclaimed clubs around the world, incl Fabric (London), Social Club (Paris), Electric Pickle (Miami), Le Bain and Cielo in NYC - and such renowned festivals as Montreux Jazz Festival, Iceland Airwaves, Roskilde and Distortion. 

And to top it all off, Kasper has since January 2012 been hosting a weekly radio program on DR National Radio channel P6 Beat called “4/4”, where he presents a wide spectrum of house, disco, no-wave and post punk records from the last 30-40 years to a wide audience.

More back story

Recorded Summer 1994. Just hanging out and having fun recording her spoken word over beats, she says to me, "I wrote something for you." I had no idea that it was about me. It's just over 1 minute + I added one of my 1st productions so you can hear how I used her words and sound...it's called Rhythm Blankets done nearly 10 years ago. 

I have more acapellas of Jill performing live at Buttamilk. I've been sitting on them until I start wearing my producer hat. I wanted to make some beats and unleash these never heard before (unless you know me) words by Jill, however, that's taking a long time so here is the 1st of a few just-the-voice snippets that I'll share.

Christian Prommer is an american producer, DJ, drummer and musician who has produced and composed genre defining and award winning dance music for two decades. As founding member of Fauna Flash, Trüby Trio and VoomVoom, as producer and co-writer for Kruder and Dorfmeister, DJ Hell (their effort "Teufelswerk" was “Echo” nominated), Kim Sanders (they won the “Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik”), The Dining Rooms, Incognito and with his own projects Prommer and Barck and most notably Christian Prommers Drumlesson - his own Band, with which he traveled between the worlds of Jazz and Techno festivals.
As a musician and collaborator he has worked with Carl Craig, Tony Allen, Bugge Wesseltoft, Joe Sample, Til Brönner, Mousse T, Wolfgang Haffner, Incognito, Klaus Doldinger and many more.
With his band, solo shows and DJ sets he travels the world non stop from big jazz festivals to the darkest after hour club.
