04 Vasileios Filippou - Swash

I wrote this piece specifically for RHUL Music Festival 2017. My fellow-composers at Royal Holloway kindly agreed to join me and play my new piece.
It is based on a Persian poem by Nima Yushij (هنگام که گریه می دهد ساز). This piece is written in a very short period. It could sound more interesting if I was able to keep the original writing for (inside) the piano. However, I was told that I was not allowed to use inside the piano.
Special thanks to Sophia Viva on Flute and recorder, Hayley Allen on Recorder and voice, Abii Hellam on Guitar and voice, Giorgio Zampirolo on Percussion, Christina Themistocli on Piano, Rock Lee on Violin. I've played kanun in this piece.

"Elevation" was written for Exaudi Ensemble as part of the GSMD MMus composition programme. It was Performed at Milton Court Concert Hall in London by Exaudi Vocal Ensemble, 20th March 2018.
