David was born in Houston, Texas and raised in the great town of Huffman, Texas. David lost his job in 2010 and decided to start writing songs with an old Alvarez that had in the case for 30 years. David has played his original songs at venues from Threadgills in Austin to the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville Tennessee. David's influenced include Willis Alan Ramsey, Rusty Weir, RWH, The Allman Brothers and more.

Northwest Soul Academy is a creative brand dedicated to expression and exploration of the soul of the Pacific Northwest. It was started in St. Johns, Portland, Oregon, by trumpeter Farnell Newton, who intends to spread the love of the NW worldwide.

With a regionally specific focus, the Academy specializes in music, education, culture, and fashion that are relevant to our community of artists, musicians, thinkers, and supporters.

I am amazed at the level of talented artists encountered on this site.  Sharing and providing feedback is such an effective way to nurture the creative process.  I am so inspired by many of you.  My songs consist of mostly live instruments and voice.  An organic approach to song writing with a few surprises in the mix.  Please feel free to comment and download if you like!  Todd
