so you thought you had it all figured out
yeah, you thought it was all understood
and it turned you inside out
when will you learn
when will the burn stop
when will you learn
so you tried a different stategy
studied and prescribed
it didn't work out as planned
and you waited for the next time
so you thought that you had it all figured out
the next time around you tried something different
everything went hunky dory then
the unexpected crept in
seemed quite a trajedy
and U put it in its place
and you woke up the next day
in a better way

some day we'll wake and find that it's all over
and the problems won't exist at all
maybe we'll have it right by then, I hope so
otherwise we just might fall down again
into the deep abyss
of our ever fragile ways
