Born in raised in a small town in North Carolina where pickup trucks, bon fires and country music were our main source of entertainment on weekends. I taught myself how to play guitar and sang in a Country/Rock band for a little over 5 years.  I even had inspirations to one day to become the first Asian/American Country music singer. :)  It wasn't until Las Vegas 2007 during a friend's bachelor party when I first discovered house music.  I was familiar with techno back in the early 2000's, but wasn't a fan of techno.  The sound I discovered in 2007 I had never heard before. I was very intrigued and later discovered that it was a new house sound. That sound was dutch house music!  I instantly fell in love with this sound and knew then that it would evolve to where it is today.  I turned to my friend/dj https://soundcloud.com/bsurratt4 , out of Charlotte, NC, and he gave me my first lesson on his decks. I've always joked about how I quit my band and traded in my Taylor acoustic guitar for my first set of decks.  My influences are Alesso, Axwell, Chuckie, Dannic, Fedde Le Grande, Ingrosso & Nicky Romero.  

I am now part of something special here in South Florida where I've teamed up with friend and fellow dj Jay Adkins to form soundcloud.com/padkins & the PADKINS Foundation.   The PADKINS Foundation supports battered women, abused & bullied kid & wounded soldiers.  We both are excited the direction EDM is going and know there will be so many great music fans on any genre out there to help support our cause.  This is my personal page where I like to share our upcoming mashups and re-edits with friends to get their feedback.  Some may or may not make the soundcloud.com/padkins cut. :)  I also try to listen and give feedback to everyone who post tracks.

EDM is my long loved passion! I discovered my passion while exploring the Charlotte nightlife back in 1999. EDM was still considered underground and there were not many venues to catch some good djs. Everyone convened at the main locations. I was always inspired by music and I decided to observe when I was out. Our interests were inspired by Charlotte DJs Tober (Mythos), Jus Chris, Rob Reeves, T Nice, a few others but can't remember their names.  I started experimenting with mixing on the turntables after I bought my brother a set of gemini's for Christmas of 2000. My brother and I spent endless time in the record stores and in our rooms perfecting the perfect mix. Back then, our EDM passion was breakbeat (funky breaks, FL breaks, Old School breakbeat, and then eventually Nu School breaks). We both always dreamed of playing one day on the big stage. The Charlotte EDM scene started to take a dive and breakbeat was going away. Many of the breakbeat artist were going electro house or dubstep. I could not get into the dubstep sound so I switched my likes over to electro house. About that time vinyl mixing and records were becoming extinct. I decided to get caught up with times and start digital djing.  It's good to see that EDM is on the rise! EDM is here to stay, and I will always be listening and mixing.
