The name “The Knave” comes from an old definition of trickster. Far more than simply the “Knave of hearts who stole the tarts”, Knaves hold selfish desires of thievery and mischief at heart while presenting an elusive face to the world. Just as this character conceals subversive elements within their prose and figure so to do does the band seek to weave provocative stories within delicate lyrics adhering to strict pop song dynamics and structure. The 5 piece seek primarily to entertain mixing a diverse range of influences from post rock acts, Tom Waits, Deftones, Silversun Pickups and many others, into a sound designed to be both dynamically impressive and sonically diverse.
