Making sad, strange, sometimes silly, spoken-word songs since 1993.

"Again the forest is fragrant the soaring larks lift up aloft with Them The Sky that to our shoulders was heavy".

Them the Sky are a collective of friends and musicians who all share a passion for music. They have developed their sound drawing upon influences as far-field as musique concrete to contemporary, shoegaze and ambient, which they utilise to create something unique among Brighton's eclectic music scene. Many of the band members have a strong musical background, from classical guitar to advanced music technology studies, allowing their sound to take influence from a range of genres. They use an array of instruments and techniques to create a style of music that combines catchy ambience, classical inspired melodies and driving drum beats. Their ideal gig would be The Postal Service supporting Sigur Ros. 

They have recently self recorded and produced their second EP, 'Echolalia' and performed many shows in Brighton to large audiences including their EP launch at The Haunt in conjunction with JuiceFM, with over 200 tickets sold.

The visual aspect is a key part of their live show and when the facilities allow they perform with projected videos synchronised to the audio. They also had the great pleasure of being part of Pop-Up Brighton's Soundscreen event at the Brighton Dome, collaborating with visual artists to produce a sold out, one-off audio-visual spectacle alongside the amazing 'Phoria' and 'Written in Waters'. From this has come 3 of the videos you can find on their youtube page.

They are now working on new songs and a new show to perform in Spring/Summer of 2014, hopefully taking it on tour in Europe to build on our 2-day stint in Milan, Italy in August 2013.
