In a past life, Christopher toured across the globe as one-half of the DJ duo Dance Spirit. Then, as the world paused, he pressed the reset button on his own career. Now a published poet with a namesake solo music project gaining momentum, his resilience shows loudly and clearly in his second act, while also contributing visual identities for artists and brands such as Visionquest, Kazbah, Doc Martin, Pezzner, Mustafa Ismaeel, Shaun Reeves, Purple Print Music, Yoon Festival, Listed, and a host of others.

About the mix:

I wanted to create something fun and energetic for my Yoon family. In general I try to program my sets in a journey kind of format, starting off spacey and minimal and then kicking the grooves into more bouncy and thumping beats and bigger sounds, and then eventually tapering off into deeper energetic territories after the peak hour kind of music. I kept the bpms low because I dont like making fast sets for podcasts, however I dont think the listener will notice because of the energy that is in the music. Def lots of hands in the air/ face melter moments, and beautiful ones as well. Enjoy.

Dana Kelley "House Down," the second-to-last track on this mix. Originally released in 1999, re-issued by Chiwax in 2023. This track is such a hypnotic groove monster. As one user on Discogs aptly describes it, Kelley demonstrates an exceptional skill in controlling the intensity of the music, like a master holding a fierce beast on a tight leash.

It was 11 a.m. on the third day of the festival. By now, we were thoroughly cooked by the excesses of our own choices. As morning slipped into afternoon, the dedicated partygoers drifted in one by one—bleary-eyed, a little defeated from the night before, yet still drawn by the hypnotic rhythms and the cool blue water of the pool. Slowly, we gathered again, mustering up the stamina for what was left of our best intentions. With only twenty hours of the party remaining we couldn’t make haste.

Iron Curtis has been quietly crafting house music for many years, so it's fitting he is the first man to drop a full-length on West Yorkshire's finest label, Hudd Traxx. He shows his full range here, and while there are concessions to the full-length format, such as an immersive ambient opener steeped in cosmic radiance, there are also plenty of effective club cuts high on personality. The minimal kinetics of 'Dial Me In' is a standout, while 'Tensione' is dubby and elastic house and 'Dance Inc' slides into soft and dusty bliss for intimate backrooms.
