The sound of Thoughts of Alexander is inspired by various demo tapes of indie and new wave artists. The recordings are very raw and unpolished, this because almost everything was recorded first take, in his own bedroom, directly onto an eight track cassette recorder with only one microphone. Arthur likes to use a lot of tape recorders for delay and saturation effects on the tracks. This gives his music an overall seventies vibe which suits the simplistic idea behind his music.

SONGS FROM THE HEART

Taymir makes authentic pop songs in the '60's beat' tradition, with the balls of the Arctic Monkeys and the edge of The Strokes.

Their debut single 'Aaaaah' was released in fall 2013. Shortly after it's release, the song topped the Dutch airplay charts. Taymir was invited to open at the prestiges London Calling Festival in Paradiso, Amsterdam, as the only Dutch band on the bill.

The debut album 'Phosphene', was released late October 2013 in the Netherlands and Taymir was proclaimed 'the sound of 2014' by the dutch music press.

After this flying start, Taymir wasn't under the radar no more!

At the Eurosonic Noorderslag festival early 2014, Taymir was on fire, which led to a busy festival tour for the summer of 2014. With Pinkpop (NL), The Great Escape (UK), Le Printems de Bourges (France) and many more.

This whole summer Taymir will capture their adventures in 60 second updates on their Youtube channel.

THE REVOLUTION.
Soul Sister Dance Revolution, was founded in the sweltering summer of 2009 and is rocking the Dutch stages ever since, with their alternative indie rock. Desert rock influences by Queens of the Stone Age and Eagles of Death Metal and the grooving British sound of the Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian make Soul Sister Dance Revolution an energetic collective, with a distinctive sound.

2012 was entirely devoted to the recording of the debut album 'Playground Kids'. In October 2012 the first single 'Hold the Line' was released, which got major support on the Dutch national radio. A kick-start for Soul Sister Dance Revolution, that resulted in being voted 'Most promising act' at the 'The Hague Music City Awards'.

2013 started with a Bang for Soul Sister Dance Revolution. The band played a stunning show at the international 'Eurosonic/Noorderslag Festival' and got nominated 'Best Rock Band' at the 3FM Awards as the only newcomer among established bands. April 4th 2013, Soul Sister Dance Revolution presented their debut album 'Playground Kids' at a sold-out hometown gig. The album got raving reviews and after a blasting performance at the biggest talk show of the Dutch television 'Playground Kids' was topping the iTunes Alternative Charts.

This summer Soul Sister Dance Revolution will be playing at a lot of festival shows in the Netherlands, as well as in Germany and the UK.

Honoring their confusing name, contradiction has become the trademark of this up and coming band from Holland.
