This is a take I was working out with the help of my dearest friend and musical mastermind Vergil on his modular system / thank you for that buddy ! For me, this song describes the permanent fall and rise again in life. sun and rain in a recurring cycle. missing lost people and appreciating friends. dealing with yourself, reflecting everything and never stopping learning, even when it's the hardest. To stay strong between all the whispers and pause under the raindrops. To motivate yourself for change and the eternal path to yourself.

The selected picture is by Horst Janssen, one of the most moving artists that I was able to get to know on my way through an unforgettable encounter.

The pain of missing someone or something is a deep and profound ache that resonates within the very core of one's being. Sleepless nights may be plagued by vivid dreams and restless thoughts, further intensifying the ache. It's a pain that's difficult to put into words, a constant nagging feeling that there's something incomplete in your life.

But in this pain, there's also a peculiar beauty. It's a testament to the depth of our connections and the significance of what's missing. It reminds us of the value and impact of those we love or the experiences we cherish. While the pain of missing can be excruciating, it can also be a powerful motivator to reach out, reconnect, or strive to fill the void in our lives with new experiences and memories. It's a reminder that our hearts have the capacity to feel deeply and that the absence of something or someone can be a testament to the love and meaning they brought to our lives.

Unsuccessful Living Without You

In our digital age, an unsettling transformation is underway, with individuals morphing into digital zombies. The pervasive influence of social media, driven by consumerism and capitalism, has led to a prioritization of virtual interactions over genuine human connections.

This soulless existence is marked by detachment from the tangible world, as individuals seek validation through online metrics and succumb to the allure of consumerist ideals. Face-to-face interactions, once fundamental to human connection, are overshadowed by the instant gratification provided by digital engagement.

The constant pursuit of material possessions and social validation perpetuates a cycle of consumption, shaping both individual identities and the collective consciousness. To resist this dehumanizing trend, it is crucial to strike a balance between virtual and real-world experiences, prioritizing meaningful interactions and rediscovering the authenticity of the human experience.

After releasing five sold out various artists EP’s featuring 25 artists, positivesource is excited to present a new chapter for the label with a diverse and anthemic EP from Berlin based producer Regent.

No stranger to the label, Regent contributed to src005 last year with his smooth techno roller ‘Off Agenda’ alongside music from Neri J, Alpha Tracks, Vil & Cravo. His tracks have featured heavily in DJ sets by label founders Blue Hour and Philippa Pacho over the years, naturally the idea to present the first artist EP on positivesource with Regent comes as no surprise. The record starts on a hypnotic tip with ‘Occult’, grooving along with an infectious bass-line swung beats and blissed out atmospherics before stepping up the energy levels on ‘Khmera’, a relentless chord driven percussive anthem with nostalgic vocals rising to new heights. On the flip the title track ‘Aphid Riot’ is bold and vibrant leaning heavily into UK flavours using sliced up vocals, breakbeats and a classic ‘Reece’ bass-line. Completing the record is a ‘broken’ version of ‘Aphid Riot’ highlighting an ethereal tonal melody with a deeper and more introspective take on the original. It’s a new sound exploration from the producer, demonstrating his versatility and perhaps a rare moment in his discography.

After launching his first Solo EP on Egotot’s Schimmer Records, Phil decided to create a side project runned by himself. To let different people create different interpretations from one and the same piece of music was the plan of this side project. Mirror Maze is a track that shows a different, more playful and melancholic side of his music. Domiated by a very dynamic synth lead which is evolving through the whole track, accompied by 909 drums. Phil got it reinterpreted by different high quality artists and that's what came out of it.
