Approaching its 10-year anniversary, the Los Angeles-based label Young Art Records was launched by recording artist TOKiMONSTA in 2014. It debuted with the release of her mini-album Desiderium, which showcases features from Anderson .Paak and Joyce Wrice. Additional collaborations include Ambré, EARTHGANG, Ryuichi Sakamoto, VanJess, The Drums, Isaiah Rashad, Yuna and Selah Sue. TOKiMONSTA’s goal was to create a platform that would help nurture the creative output of talented artists, using her own releases to solidify the foundation of the label. Young Art has gone on to release the Juno-nominated album Play with the Changes by Canadian R&B icon Rochelle Jordan, Svengali by Cakes da Killa (rated 4 out of 5 stars by The Guardian), and Grammy-nominated “Best Electronic'' album Lune Rouge by TOKiMONSTA. The label’s roster newly boasts Japanese-American producer SHIMA, Miami-raised ROZET, as well as Rochelle Jordan, Keys N Krates, Daktyl + Benni Ola, Suzi Analogue, Rush Davis, Kingdom and more. Since the label’s inception, TOKiMONSTA has released two full-length albums, numerous singles and remixes. TOKiMONSTA’s forthcoming Eternal Reverie LP is projected to release later this year, with the first single “Switch It” (ft. Cakes da Killa + GAWD) released on June 13.

Tommy Walter is an American film, documentary and television composer based in Los Angeles. He has written scores for a number of films and television programs as well as commercial spots and trailers for Sony Pictures, HBO, Target, Sprint, Subaru, Union Pacific Railroad and the Portland Trailblazers among others. He won an Advertising Federation Gold Award in Original Television Music for Target's “Art Unfolds” that aired during the broadcast of the Golden Globes.

Tommy began his career as a founding member of the critically acclaimed band Eels. The band toured the world in support of their release Beautiful Freak and the alternative rock hit “Novocaine For The Soul," winning the group a BRIT Award for Best International Breakthrough Act. Tommy then went on to start his own project, so far releasing four albums under the moniker Abandoned Pools. The single "The Remedy" reached number one on the MTV2 Rock Countdown while the band continued touring in America, Europe and Japan with artists such as, Garbage, Lenny Kravitz, Pink and A Perfect Circle.

​Growing up on the edge of LA County, Tommy spent his teenage summers at the Idyllwild Arts Academy in Southern California and the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan where he studied French horn and jazz bass. In college, he continued his studies in French Horn with James Decker at the University of Southern California, performing in the USC Symphony, but soon found his true calling in composition. He earned a Bachelor of Music in Theory & Composition studying with composers Donald Crockett, Stephen Hartke and Morten Lauridsen. He furthered his studies with a Certificate in Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television under the guidance of film scoring legends Jerry Goldsmith, Jonathan Debney, and David Raksin.
