Nils Frahm is a big inspiration to us, we love his style of recording (and performing) and the intimacy it brings. We decided to rework the beautiful little piano monologue that is Mi as part of his Screws remix project(http://reworked.nilsfrahm.com). For this one, we didn’t want to change the piano itself, but give it a new context. Usually we'd leave the listener to interpret the music but it is probably good to explain the vision for the rework in this case, seeing as it was so clear to us from the beginning.

Someone is in a pristine but old-fashioned living room and they go over to put the Nils Frahm record on. They sink into a red leather armchair and close their eyes. The viewer floats up from their point of view to see the room from above and then out into the gardens surrounding the building, which is modern and belies the interior. The view keeps panning out with more and more angular buildings of dark metal in the field of view. The blackness of sky speckled with stars can be seen in the distance, and as we move out further and further we then pass through a membrane that makes it clear that this is a huge city floating in space. We keep panning out to show the planet far below and the sun casting a reddish light onto the side of the huge ship. Finally, the person opens their eyes and we're back in the room with them as the Nils Frahm piano ends.

Cryo Chamber welcomes Iranian Mehdi Saleh from Alphaxone back with his 4th album on the label. A space voyage ambient album of drone mixed with electronic overtones and a healthy dose of field recordings. 

Echoes from Outer Silence take us through space and to the archaic signals of civilizations beyond the stars, Mehdi this time packing some serious analogue warmth to his droney dreamscapes. 

He once again polishes up his already splendid sound quality and excellent production to reach new heights. This is an album best enjoyed when relaxing with a cup of freeze dried coffe in zero G.

Alphaxone - Solitude

Pär Boström of cult project Kammarheit presents us with his side project Cities Last Broadcasts second album, The Humming Tapes 

On this album Pär Boström explores his fascination with old seances and the early 20th century. Reel-to-reel tape recorders and de-tuned instrumentation combined with modern mixing techniques creates an album that sounds haunted, but also careful and nurturing. 

Pär has with this work taken yet another step forward in his production skill set squashing any doubt that he is one of the most unique artists in the genre with his unorthodox approach to recording his sounds.

'Phrenitis' takes the listener to a twisted place where the walls between worlds are razed. The ruinous cities of wars long past, where time itself is but a prisoner and the warlords roaming their purgatorial halls are free to destroy the very foundations of the natural order. 

'Phrenitis' is the 6th album of Atrium Carceri and is yet another step of the ever increasing Atrium Carceri wake up call. Simon Heath shows himself and the world, yet again, that no man is ever truly the master of their art unless they strive to evolve with it. The soundscapes he has created bypass the conscious mind, taking the listener deep into his pristine nightmare. The evolution of sound is spot-on and sets Atrium Carceri apart from other lazy dark ambient acts by being a truly diverse piece, replete with details upon details to make the illusion complete, and haunting compositions to make the mind yearn.
