The song was inspired by how life is for some people. When you feel like you are stuck and when you feel like you're a slave working for little pay and heavy hours. The reason why people do certain things like stealing which leads to other issues is because we live in a terrible situation. It's not like it once was with the ancestors becoming one with nature and living in tune with the earth. Houses made of buffalo pelt. Money has only existed to make people depressed, it wasn't needed nor used for 99.99% of the world's existence. So Bonny and Clyde did what they sought fit, just like rich elites, businessmen, and politicians do as they see fit.
