Questions is a track that caries a lot of weight for me. I’ve been dealing with trying to understand so much about my life and my place in society and in music, and I’m currently in a place of huge uncertainty that I think about every day. 
Some of the questions that have been on my mind that are in this song are: is pursuit of art worth it? Am I vain for thinking I’m even capable? Why is society so keen on pushing down people who think differently? Am I biologically determined to living my life like this? Can I carve a realm in sound that is uniquely mine?

There is all sorts of stuff I have been grappling with, some of it dumb, some of it personal, but I always try and wrap it into music. Seems to be the only thing that can truly hold my focus. 
The arc of the song represents the changing of my mindset over the last year. It’s starts out dark and ambient, full of unsettling feelings and not a lot of resolution until reaching the first drop where the intensity of the collection of those feelings is released in a raw scream of sound. 

By the end of the track the complexity of the ideas has continued to develop until the final drop brings us back to the first drop idea, only this time those ideas have changed, they have more to say, they are more melodic, there is a glimmer of hope, but ultimately they are unresolved ideas. 
This is the first chapter of my year. I’m excited to see where it goes and if you’re interested to talk about it feel free to reach out.

This track is one of my all time favorite songs. I can distinctly remember it as one of the first songs I could truly feel, instead of just liking how it sounded. I used to watch the music video and some of the performances on repeat on youtube. 

Strange thing how life imitates art as September two and a half years ago this song took a completely new meaning for me when I lost one of my best friends to suicide. All I want to do now is create the art that maybe helps people understand, come to terms with, or even prevent these things from happening. 

Anyway I hope I have done this song justice, bringing it back in my perspective.

Sin Xeno, the Sin of Difference, the Alien Sin. It's a concept I have spent a lot of time thinking about, especially with how it relates to my life. 

I have spent so much time in situations and places where I was being judged on metrics that I felt missed the target completely. Metrics that seem like they were supposed to make me believe that I was somehow lesser or broken in some fundamental way. 

So many societies and religions seem to maintain the practice of demonizing the different, or things they can't understand. Sometimes it feels like it is this arbitrary pressure that causes so many people to be miserable or question their existence. Whether on the aspect of race, sexuality, or neurodiversity it seems pretty clear to me (and basically anyone I've met who has experienced that pressure) that there is nothing wrong with being who you are. Just don't hurt people in the process...

The system (government, economics, MSM, etc) is the source of problems and suffering for so many. The holes have become so clear in this time of pandemic. But the system is also designed to be hard to change, unless you have the power and money to do so. But most who do just use that to benefit themselves.

There are people out there fighting the good fight; who see the future of technology and how it will force us to rethink everything. But people remain scared to change what we know is broken. The future is now, technology is indistinguishable from magic. We need to make the world we want to live in.

Here is something a little different. Nearly three years ago around this time I released my second ever song in my initial EP called Momentum. It was a pretty straight forward idea that just expressed the feelings I was having. I was at the beginning of my production journey and I could feel that it was something new that I would hold on to for a while, and I could feel that it was something I needed to keep going with. 

Now as it turns out the idea of that song was a lot better than my production abilities at the time, so over the years I sat with it and it always felt incomplete to me because I knew it could be more. 

This song in part is sort of a three year bench mark to me to show my progress in sound design over the course of three years. This song is a bit out there I’ve never really heard so much electro funk but I really love how it turned out. I think it’s good as well to reflect on progress you’ve made over time so you can realign yourself and it helps with continuing to push forward and get better.
