Live Sets

Each of us is experiencing life in a way that is uniquely subjective, and we consistently have something profound that we can and should express. We are all artists in our own way. Some people paint paintings; others capture images with a camera. Some make pottery, others write poetry: a fresh expression composed of words already invented. Some people create music from scratch, others curate preexisting sounds to tell a tale. 
Some Disc Jockeys take money in exchange for requests like human jukeboxes. Others find elements of a sonic tale that speak to them, and then look for ways to tie those parts of the proverbial rope together in a way that introduces a new experience to the audience.  
As long as the group is open minded enough to take the journey, they become the dance floor. If the stars align, and the jockey has all the right tools, we can make magic out of such composition. 
This can be done anywhere from a living room, to a yoga class, to a desert, or a beach. But our favorite place is Bartledoo Ranch. There’s something about that place that puts us in that flow state everyone talks about. From Chuck's perspective, it was one of his best sets yet. The year prior, he played the sunset, so this time he wanted to go dark; use black magic for good. We hope you love bugs will enjoy it!

Chuck Tyler at House Party Royale NYE '0024 in Dead Ringer

What an honor it was to play at this annual gathering that is really gaining traction!

I believe that great wizards must learn to use black magic for good. It can have medicinal effects if applied properly and in moderation. For me, Sunsets and Shadows Gathering is about exploring the dark side of music. This set is my interpretation of that journey.

Chuck Tyler at Sunsets and Shadows Chapter II

I had such an incredible time bringing down the sun for the third Bartledoo Campout at Jimmytown. It was the best Bartledoo yet and one of the top sunsets that I have ever seen in my life! And wow what a crazy and wild feeling it was to have my finger on the pulse of this powerful energy and meaningful moments that a large group of friends shared together. 

Join me on this dramatic journey as we venture from a meadow, up to a forest, find a trail and start gaining more elevation, watch the trail become more treacherous, cross a janky bridge and barely get past a giant serpent, get lost in a dark cave for a while, find the black diamond trail again on the other side, reach the jagged summit of a giant mountain, and come back down only to find an enormous cascading waterfall of emotion. Watch and listen as the setting sun gleams through the symbolically falling water. Then sit down for some meditation and reflection as the set nears its end.

This was my set from a very special event by Roska Collective that I was asked to play. The party is called Club House. It is a very intimate and vibey party that happens only once every two months and always on a Wednesday night, in Reno Nevada. Good energies all around.

Chuck Tyler is co-founder and resident DJ of Reno's favorite electronic event, House Party. He always steps to the decks with a grand sense of glee. From the grooviest tech all the way down to the deep end, he is always cheesing hard while playing what he insists on calling delicious house music. His productions take elements from pop, reggae, folk, hip-hop, and techno to create a familiar yet refreshing feel to the house genre. Chuck has shared the booth with Atish, Rodriguez Jr., m.O.N.R.O.E., Tara Brooks, Sacha Robotti, Robag Wruhme, Andreas Henneberg, Spencer Brown, Yolanda Be Cool, Ardalan, Nala, Holmar, and more; but his favorite way to spin is with close friends because DJing is mostly about sharing good music.
