Nothing Poetic is a Canadian alternative rock band from Ottawa, Ontario. Formed originally by Arne Ruckert (drums), Billy Harrison (lead guitar), and Chuck Wilson (bass), Nick Mitritsakis (vocals and rhythm guitar) joined the group in 2014 when an ad on a musician website caught his attention. The band owes its sound to a mix of influences that range from funk, prog-rock, and 90’s alternative rock, to metal. While song writing is a collaborative and collective effort between the four band members, some of the earlier material was brought forward by Chuck who is also a seasoned guitarist in his own right. Billy’s unique guitar style is a key component of the band’s sound with haunting leads and an attack to his instrument rarely heard in today’s music. Arne Ruckert’s active and creative playing style coupled with his impeccable timing drive the songs and keeps the band sounding tight. Nick’s unique song writing approach adds to the musical complexity that is characteristic of the band’s sound. Nick’s writing is non-apologetic, in your face, and to the point; which provided the inspiration for the name Nothing Poetic.

The band has recently recorded a yet-to-be-named 3 song EP featuring the single ‘Hero’s Cue’, in addition to ‘Waiting out the Storm’ and ‘Inches from the Grave’. The band writes, records, and produces all of their own music which allows it complete artistic freedom and control. The band has recently been featured as a promising new artist on the local alternative rock radio station Live 88.5 Spotlight, and is played by various university radio stations.

Nothing Poetic will be stepping on stage for the first time on May 15th at Ottawa’s Mavericks, a staple of the cities’ music scene. More gigs are in the works for the summer of 2015.

I am a solid 3.4 student with a major in English from the University of Washington. I've also been asked what my SAT score was and it was 1060. It only took five years of dorm/rave life for me to accrue the life knowledge I have received. I’m a Sagittarius, which means I’m super creative and stubborn; but there are walls I need to break down because I always want to leap over the boundaries that make me climb ladders and roofs. I’m agreeable and delightful. I also have incredible leadership skills and following abilities. And, I have 20/20 vision so I’m an eagle eye. Intervals are a progressive, instrumental powerhouse, hailing from Toronto, Ontario , Canada. With roots firmly planted in metal, and inspiration ranging from fusion to electronic, the four-piece wields a gripping sonic aesthetic. Energetic riffs, coupled with memorable melody take the listener through a myriad of moods and soundscapes.

With primary guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Aaron Marshall, and internet drumming sensation Anup Sastry (live drums for Jeff Loomis) at the helm, the two deliver an exciting perspective on modern melodic metal. Their focus being on challenging themselves technically, while maintaining memorable hooks to draw in any music fanatic.

The band released their debut EP, "The Space Between" in December, 2011, which saw critical acclaim in the online metal community. Fall 2012 will see the band release a follow-up EP entitled, "In Time", brimming with Intervals' brand of catchy melodic prog. Teaming with timeless, forward thinking music, Intervals are the soundtrack to the future.

Thank you for visiting! I've always felt a strong need to express myself creatively. During the pandemic, music production became my personal outlet. I love exploring samples, composing, singing, and playing instruments like the flute, piano, and didgeridoo—always seeking out sounds that inspire me.
Since I began learning dance styles such as salsa, bachata, and zouk, my music has been deeply influenced by their rhythms, beats, and tempos. This fusion continues to fuel my artistic journey in exciting ways.
It’s very important to note that my songs are works in progress. I do the best I can with the limited time I have, so currently, each song is posted “AS IS”! Trust me, I hear all the imperfections..😒 My hope is to someday carve out more time and resources to polish and refine these tracks, so they can truly align with my original vision 😊. Ps. Made by a REAL human.
